I smelled some coolant the other day when I got out of my Ford Explorere. I tracked it down to a bad heater control valve. It was a bit more of an adventure than I wanted to make it, but I got it done.

Nice video. I was curious about the location of the arrow on the valve.

I don’t remember an arrow on mine. I just installed as removed.

@@Misunderstoodboygenius when I took mine out was while doing other repairs, and did not pay much attention to position. I reinstalled it by "logic". I have a bad vacuum switch so the heater valve is getting no vacuum so it stays open. While looking into this stuff, I noticed the arrow on the housing and started to doubt my installation. Although other videos do show original installation as yours. I am going to close it manually to see if it keeps the core side cold, if it does, I am going to leave it 😀

Can that cause my ford explorer not to throw heat in cabin ??
@Misunderstoodboygenius Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure in your case but if it’s stuck closed it certainly won’t. The other problem might be the blending doors in the cabin. The actuators can go bad too.

@@Misunderstoodboygenius changed both on my explorer !! It throws really lil heat on fan speed 1 .. once I go on speed 2 3 4 . The little heat air goes cool

@@bernardonunez9611 you’ve got deeper problems then. Maybe a plugged heater core. It’s impossible to tell through the internet.
