Hello, So glad you liked the video. I tried to give enough but not too much detail on doing the repair. Thanks for watching!!

Just went to dealership said our 2010 Scion XD lower control arm and bushings are going bad. They told me the TRD tire rim modify is causing this. Told me the tires are too big. We bought the car new, added the rims, and nobody ever said that the tires are damaging the car. Have you heard this? Toyota wants to charge us $2,402.42 to replace the bushings. Thanks for making this video.

Hello Belinda, No I haven’t heard of tires damaging the car. Larger tires can be hard on bearings but bushing it’s usually caused by age and miles. I can’t imagine your tires are that much heavier. As you saw in my video that replacing the arms is time consuming and that where their cost is. Also the Toyota factory parts are $$$. I had almost $300 in parts for this video. Hope you can find a honest mechanic to do the job and save some money. Thanks for watching!!

Well I'm convinced I will not buy a Toyota 😅, these engineers that design these cars don't give a hoot how hard an owner has to work to replace things, they just expect you to take it to the dealer so they can scalp your wallet to fix it. That was too big of a project, I would have sold it and put the money on my RZR 😀

Hello Lou-eye, This was definitely an adventure.. Toyota doesn’t make it easy. But I got it done!

I have a 2011. Does anyone know if this issue is the same with the manual transmission?

Hello, I really not sure. I’ve only worked on the automatic cars. Hopefully some can answer your question. Thanks for watching!!

Hello, I definitely understand the need for mechanics gloves. I’m actually suffering through a severe burn on the side of my finger from welding. Gloves are required!! Thanks for watching!!!
