John Hanigosky you can call any run by any team...luck...it plays apart of it. I’ll give you the 01 Patriots, lucky there was a stupid rule in the book known as the “tuck rule” everyone including Brady knows that was a fumble, a dumb rule saved them, aka lucky...This latest Chiefs team. Lucky the crap Miami Dolphins beat NE in week 17 to give the Chiefs the 2 instead of the 3 seed and the Titans knocking off both the Pats and Ravens to give the Chiefs an easier road. Just because a team gets lucky along the way doesn’t make the title any less significant. The Cardinals may have been 9-7 but they destroyed teams in the playoffs, and had HOF talent on offense with Warner, Fitzgerald, Boldin and James. Your lucky comment...is just garbage lol 😂

Santonio Holmes was the MVP of this playoff series. In this game he woke us up after being stunned by the early SD TD with his punt return TD, In the AFC title game he made a similar play on a catch and run for a TD that we needed it that slugfest with the brutal Ravens and then in the Super Bowl he made the greatest catch to win the game in SB history.

My third favorite Steelers team after 78 and 76. Still have the ESPN Magazine with the defense on the cover, such a classic picture.
Everyone remembers James Harrison's 100-yard return in the Super Bowl. What you may not realize is that the reason it happened was because of this SD touchdown at 1:47:18. NaaNee is Boldin on a virtually identical route. Harrison said in an interview that he remembered that Cardinal formation from the Charger game. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3iopZ98a7-Zqsk)

The Chargers were a very good team that year and almost beat the Steelers in the regular season game, several weeks before. But the Steelers were more prepared for the rematch, healthier and more focused. And the D woke up quick after SD burned us early, with that huge TD pass. Then everything started to come together on both sides of the ball. The Steelers were destined to win it that year, as they would eventually prove.

Coaches scheme. Gms build teams. Quit this, especially in football it takes game plans and hundreds of play calls out of different schemes and sets a game. This is an argument people who never played real football make. Even a new coach in highschool will have the same players but will be a world of difference

Man I miss being younger, drinking a lot of beer, and watching that second coming of the Steel Curtain defense with Dick LeBeau as the coordinator. Sure we all recognize the greatness of Farrior and Harrison then, but a lot of credit to Foote and Woodley. Farrior/Foote and Harrison/Woodley were just a nasty linebacker corps. Aaron Smith, Hamption and Keisel, and Troy and Ryan Clark in the secondary. God to have that defense back. And something about throwing it to Hines Ward and Heath Miller seemed to make Ben throw a little better. Santonio Holmes was incredible all through the playoffs that year. Good times.

This game is important and historical. The Chargers were the first team ( besides the Patriots back in 2001) who realized how you had to play to beat the great defenses of the Steelers and Ravens of the 2000’s. You had to spread them out with multiple receivers , tight ends, and possibly running backs and get their linebackers, corners, and safety’s in the open field. You couldn’t play from under center all game with all the exotic blitz and such. The Cardinals did it in the super bowl but lost. Packers did it in 2010 and won. Patriots did it all the time. I mean there’s obviously more that goes into who wins and loses but spreading the defense out and heavy shotgun sets became prevalent at this time
@1USACitizen1926 жыл бұрын
You are pretty obtuse. Oakland raiders did this in 2002 and crushed steeler. Cincinnati bengal in 2001 same result.
@arthurthomas42044 жыл бұрын
Yeah the packers beat the Steelers in superbowl 45 but only because of the pick six that ben threw and that late turnover by Rashad mendenhall, if not for that the Steelers would have 7 superbowl wins ,,,,

Another year when the Steelers didn't have to see The Pats. They were gift wrapped a couple championships. In Steelers fans hearts they even know it's true. Haha Woooooo!!!!!!

Theres an apple tree in trouble Somewhere. Chargers will never win a Super Bowl if they keep running Zone defense against Brady

Looked like an interception to me at 2:09:21 but maybe im wrong? It looks like he has possession, and his butt touches the ground first in bounds. 🤷🏻♂️

Can you explain the pattern I'm failing to see it

@@its12gagebruh31 When the Chargers beat Pittsburgh in the 1982 and 1994 playoffs, the weather was decent. During the 2008 playoff game it was snowing and cold. Chargers have never done well in temperatures under 30(1981 AFC Championship game windchill...-59)

@@keithclark7266 I was thinking that too but you put the game where they won in 40 degree weather and that's what confused me

@@keithclark7266 to Pittsburgh standards yes but that's still cold for someone who lives in San Diego is all I'm saying 40 is still cold
