HELL yeah. I like that! I have a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT and hope to get a cold air intake installed at some point. Right now I'm just running drop-in K&N air filter. This is cool, man. A lot of people don't realize that Dodge Grand Caravans have a serious engine setup and 283HP stock. I've street-raced a couple of people. One Subaru sedan (forgot the model) and a Mustang. Gave them both a solid run for their money and they seemed stoked to be 'competing' against a minivan of all things. Vans are badass MPVs; people just hate on them 'cause of the whole "soccer-mom" shebang. I don't care, though. I'm proud to drive a Grand Caravan.

Charles D. just bought me a 2014 RT it's beautiful interior is totally Decked Out we got the max package.. I have K&N air filter and Flowmaster 50 Series installed I also have my tuner in the mail on its way, Iv been thinking of ordering different Springs so I can lower it about 2 inches or so. I do 0 to 60 and just a little over six seconds the van is fast as hell sometimes I feel like I have to let off it when I punch it off the line, I feel like it may get away from me in the ass and some but other than that this thing is beautiful rides nice and was well worth the 16 G's there is mods online where you can change your van to a Blacktop version May cost a little money but is well worth the the look.

Cold air intakes also reduce restrictions caused by factory air boxes. All you really did was move the filter
@truelove7235 жыл бұрын
Actually, the filter i removed was paper, the Cone filter i replaced it with is not and its 2.5 times the surface area.. So it allows triple the airflow>
@thatguy-qb3xz5 жыл бұрын
Except for all the restrictions caused by extra surface area and bends on the intake. Put that rig on a dyno. You we most like have weaker performance and worse fuel economy then stock air. You can get high quality filters for your stock box and this about the best you can do. Unless you rework you entire engine and play with computer settings. All you did here was waist time and money.

You've done the most extensive modding to a Caravan that I've seen. Do you know of any performance parts besides intake and exhaust that would work for a 98 year? I'm swapping the engine and trans into an 89 Daytona, I have a video of it on my channel. I like the sounds of your exhaust too, might get me some Flowmaster 40s or straight pipe.

I did the same thing but kept my air filter just in case for extra protection from debris and dirt

Dumbest shot I've ever seen, this will trash the motor in 10k miles do not do this at home youtube

What do you base your claim on? I've done this many times and can tell you it's not even close to pushing your engine over it's limit on a modern vehicle with an ECU that governs rev limit.
@1heavyelement4 жыл бұрын
@@jeffsautopage8764 the torn paper from what's left of the air filter will eventually rot and be sucked into the intake. Not to mention the new filter is installed virtually next to the ground allowing for water to be sucked into the intake on rainy days. I agree dumbest mod done to a minivan.

im confsued why did you cut out the filter inside the box and what is good of that? im getting a 05 caravan tomorrow

just don't drive through any deep puddles. Cadillac used to put emisdion air pumps under the front bumper and they sucked up water. water in an intake is a bad thing.
@jeffsautopage87645 жыл бұрын
It is nearly impossible to get enough water into the intake 3.5ft off the ground to hydrolock the engine. As long as the inlet where the air/water will or could be sucked into the engine isn't down low, the water will fall away with air going around it. In order to seize a 3.8L engine with 6 cyl you would need to suck up 0.63liters of water in one rotation of the engine, which is less than one second. You would have to get the pipe to the intake under the water for several seconds to get that volume of water into the intake valves.

READ THIS WARNING ⚠️ Without a functional air filter, dirt and debris can easily enter the turbocharger, causing extreme damage. ... Without an air filter in place, the engine may also be sucking dirt and debris in at the same time. This can cause damage to internal engine parts, such as valves, pistons and cylinder walls.

C P there is a spectre cone filter attached to the end of the black tube.. rewatch the video.. I point out the cold air cone filter on the end of the hose...
