I have a 2007 Outlaw 525 irs. It sat for 10 years, had to replace main and pilot jet just like you but I also had to replace the accelerator pump membrane since it dried up, pretty easy fix but a pain trying to figure out the initial throttle bog and kept dying when i hit the throttle hard. My motor seems a little noisy but after watching this video it sounds about the same. I also put in an aftermarket fuel mix screw from JDjetting that you can adjust by hand. Thanks for the video!

Backfire from deceleration is probably from the bad seal at the head. The header pipe, from what I understand, doesn't seal correctly to the head because there's like a chunk of weld metal in the way on some of them.

That's a very good point, I didn't think of checking that, sure that'd do it, or make a situation worse. Thanks for the info!

Where did you get that tool to adjust the carb and what is it called? Thanks!

www.motionpro.com/product/08-0229. You can buy it from them or a number of places. Thanks for the question.

I have been in the market for a LTZ/KFX 400 then saw a local guy with an Outlaw IRS exactly like this for sale. I know nothing about them, so searched and found this channel. With the amount of issues this one has had, I think I will stick with Suzuki engines.

Good choice. The Outlaw is a mishmash of parts being part one thing and part another with the Polaris/KTM mix.

#45 pilot and #148 main. I get my jets from Niche Cycle Supply in St. Pete, FL. #45 pilot is SKU N424-21/45 and the #148 SKU is 99101-357/148. www.nichecycle.com. Tell them I referred you, maybe some day they'll sponsor me. hehehehe. Yea, wishful thinking.

I had 07 KTM 450 dirt bike. Just needed a different pilot jet and then the popping went away. Too lean.
@MotoRestoFL Жыл бұрын
Agree. This one was a budget job because the owner was selling it. I told him a bit of tweaking with the carb it'd be better but he was fine with it as-is.

@@MotoRestoFL I had 25 k miles on my bike trail riding around the nation. Every 10 hours change the oil and clean air filter and it was still running strong. Was a great bike

@@MotoRestoFL only noticed the popping at higher elevation. In Florida it was fine. Makes sense.

@@MotoRestoFL look up m o t o r e x it's out of Europe it's the fluid you should be using in the clutch slave The blood oil has a tendency to heat up and fail which will probably happen with that one
