These engines are rock solid, have a watercooled one in my quad since 2006, only redone the topend once, new piston and gaskets and off you go.

The electrical was challenging trying to keep the old cluster did not work out in the end I got a cluster for a 400 Honda quad and it worked great

I sold this 200 x I loved it I took it to allot of mountains rode allot of trails I got a good deal for it and it went to a real happy dude. I'm looking for a 250R now I need more more air more adrenaline. I still got allot of footage to edit and load but life has me bent over right now

Appreciate you taking the time. There was a factory option for what they called a six pack rack. It held a little Oscar cooler perfectly while still functioning as a wheelie bar. Lol It's Pastime for rebuilding my 83. Seen these motors for $420 on eBay. So... I only hope it performs as well as Hondas. At the time it was the quickest in its class. Estimated somewhere around 60,000+ miles of the harder Arizona/ Utah Trails. And endless Ozark dirt roads. She even made the 200 mile round trip from the Salton Sea through Glamis too Yuma sand dunes. And then back. Be careful I knew people who were killed or suffer from a lifetime of pain. Most severe was due to lack of helmet. 🤠🏞️🐂

Someone was just saying they are 420 somewhere 😄 I loved the motor I ran it in every condition real hard had it in red river new méxico for a few years ran it up to 13k feet in 2 feet of snow broke my clutch cable coming back down and every time I would try to stop it would just roll start itself again . Ran it on the desert in grand junction Colorado a few years and some of the best riding out in that desert tracks and jumps as far as you can see and free. I ran side by side with flint and he was all stock about the same performance I think but the electric start was so frigan nice. I went with the atd atc rack it would stop it at straight up I had to sale that trike that's just how it goes sometimes I put some love into it I pushed it 3 miles out of the rocky mountains one time the guy that bought it was taking it to a room to be rubbed with armor all for the rest of her days I will get a 250 R now

@@josephrochester sounds like a nice time. Good to hear the performance is equal. Yes that six pack rack stood it straight up. But that's also about where the balance point is if you wheelie any distance. When I was younger (68 now) there was a while I wheelied Non-Stop only dropping the front to turn. But the amount of upper body strength to hold myself on for long would make that impossible today. That factory rack after years of abuse finally broke. The new one only slightly larger did not allow it to balance. It would hit ground first. I hadn't had it a month in 83 when swapped to a 28 mm Mikuni, supertrap, and 6-in over durablue axle. Do you think one of these engines would work well , and have enough power for a utility side by side??? I wanna take a golf cart body , and make a hunting rig out of it. Also use around the property for fire wood, n such.

Did this swap on a blaster, starts up with a jump box, idk if the battery i got was bad or idk, starter clicks but if i hook up my jump box it cranks and starts right away

I'm not sure about that Rhett I would ask in Honda hoarders on fb if the 200x motor fits the 250 R frame I would think it does . Also there is so many people wanting a 250R you could probably get a nice chunk of $ for that trike and get another when the price goes back down it seems to fluctuate but right now I'm seeing the 250R up to 8 grand I want a 86 I'm looking for one now but the prices are too crazy I do love the 200x but I'm ready to do big jumps and without the 2 stroke you just can't get these things in the air to well

I used the original cable just had to bend the part on the motor to make it work right or maybe I mounted it backwards and it worked I remember I had to do something to the mount at the motor that was pretty simple and it worked but I wanted to keep as many parts stock as posable for easy replacement you will want a electric start cluster for a 400 ex quad im not sure if I updated the video to say that it will save you tons of time on the wiring and make sure you brace the hell out of the ammo box that holds the battery and use a flat piece of steel that spans the whole box for the inside washer I went thru 3 or 4 ammo boxes before figuring this out I built 2 of these trikes same build and I had a issue with the exhaust falling off on both in the long run the spot were it bolts to the frame seems to be a week point if your going to actully ride the dog shit out of it I would address the issue before it breaks on the trail good luck with the build would love to see pics and anything different you might do 🤙

I bilt a 200x with a Chinese 150 motor on it i pulled it out the junk yard I've already wreked it 2 times only road it once its rad

I wrecked many times but one time I had to jump off on a 40 degree incline about 100 ft climb it just didn't have the power to take me to the last 10 ft so I jumped off and it tumbled back down that Hill probably flipped about seven times I went to the bottom of the hill hit the start button and rode the rest of the day the construction on these old trikes is the best I ever seen

Out of all the crazy wrecks the worst one was when I was doing some donuts in a parking lot and it popped a wheelie and threw me off the back and I hit a little piece of gravel on my tailbone had me laying on my belly for 2 weeks

with same sprockets front and back they are the same. 3 years now i been ridding this build I'm impressed with the lifan motors i wish they were more accessible in the states. I have done the swap twice now my girlfriend did not like kickstarting hers after riding mine.

I will try and find the pic of the battery If I remember right any size for 200_ 400 Honda fits I used a piece of rubber mud flap to sit it on and fill the space around.. make sure you brace the hell out of the box I went thru a couple trying to make it clean and nice looking these things rattle everything lose if you take them out all day including your bones 😂 I sold this magnificent machine it ran great I miss it already but it's time to get a 250R im a peacock dammit I need to fly 😆

Just did the swap with a zongshen engine tight fit but went in after cutting knob 3 times.Saw rear brake fix with trx brake cylinder and 86 200x pedal, did you see it .

You need 1/2" free play at the end of the clutch lever. What the hell is a kick.shift.It's called.a.kick.start.lever. Commonly called a (kicker)
