200cc Shifter Kart Top Speed Run (70+ mph!!)

We’re testing the top speed of the 200cc Lifan 5 speed shifter kart on a secluded stretch of road. We were expecting a top speed of 120+ miles an hour, but we were severely limited by gearing. The Lifan also needs performance modifications to achieve a speed of 100+ mph, as drag becomes a serious factor above 60 mph on these racing karts.

Those tires are not "rated" for anything. But they are the same racing tires they use on shifter karts that do actually run over 100mph. So you'll be fine.

That kart is moving. I like it alot lol. And I'm gonna say it one more time... FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR will help you guys out alot and you won't have to change the fuel pump out. The regulator can be adjusted to any pressure you want it to run at. Look into it

I am estimating up 3 sizes on the main jet will get carb pretty dialed in. Then do a throttle chop on your next speed run and look at that plug. Also never underestimate what reducing some wind drag will do.

Just like the last one you should mitigate drag. At speeds over 55mph, aerodynamic drag exceeds rolling resistance and friction as the dominant source of wasted power.

a little fiberglass nose cone might help a little bit too, because aerodynamics are really coming into play over 60mph.

More castor in the front may make it more stable. Skip the clutch after first. Wear leathers and gloves. You may wish you had. I had a KLX 250 and it would do right at 90 fully tucked in and a Ninja250 twin cylinder did about 100. I dont see the cart doing 120 with air resistance. Maybe 90 with a ton of work and some aero. Ok. Having raced karts in the past you definitely need a centre bearing on that rear axle for those speeds. It will tighten the handling and axle harmonics up dramatically. In all fairness that motor needs to go out over the right side of that from on solid mounts so you sit square in the seat. Thats also not helping your handling. I said it last video & I'll say it again - time to invest on two front brake kits. Someones gonna get hurt. No insurance, no rego & no title - you guys we ill go down so get smart and start at a track. Dont wanna see either of you dudes in cuffs. Work on safety before speed. Want ya around a goodlong time!
