could have been one of the all time greatest NC games. massive tradition, two powerhouse schools, a Heisman trophy winner, two solid QBs, two superb running backs, wide receivers everywhere, the Rose Bowl, COME ON. it makes me sad this game failed to live up to the hype after I waited so long for it. Especially since McCoy got injured the very first drive.

Yeah. That freshmen is a freaking beast. They are a middle pack team without him. Now he's on their squad he has brought that team along way.. You forget who bama's coach is, and how much experience he has and the players. Nick has been in critical high pressure game many times. SEC champ/national T/ sec rivalry. I give bama upper hand on coaching/experience. Once nick saban fails, or his team does a bad job, that's the season you don't want to play him.He WILL fix issues..Pitt?3ot? ring a bell?

Well Im and Auburn fan and wont expect another BCS berth until at least 2012, 13, or 14. With the young talent we have now, it will be worth it in another 2-4 years. I rather see Bama win than LSU, at least we're from the same state and we can make it 3 straight heisman winners if Trent can win and for the national title from the same state for 3 years. If LSU do win, then hey, the trophy still belongs down south. As of right now I'm with the SEC, until 11/26 in Jordan Hare WDE!

The Texas Defense did excellently and held Alabama to no points gained in the 3rd and most of the 4th quarter, but when Gilbert was doing more for Alabama than their own players were, continually giving alabama Extremely good field position within 20 yards of the goal line, the defense couldn't stop the bama momentum. Its one thing to have your star player taken out and replaced, but when the replacement throws more receptions to the opponent, thats when things get really bad

Yep, that dual-threat quarterback was unstoppable. I'm still reeling from how much better their offense played. I thought their defense was overrated, but they showed they really deserved their rating. Alabama does not have problems with dual-threat quarterbacks. Alabama (sometimes) has problems with Heisman-winning quarterbacks. Why? Because they're elite talents. As the other guy stated, this Texas A&M team had a brand-new coaching staff and a phenom at quarterback. Ridiculous comparison.

(cont.) Also, remember that Alabama scored most of its points due to Gilbert. just before the half Bama scored off of gilberts failed shuffle pass. Then Texas closed the gap to 21-24 before gilbert continued showing what he's been showing everyone this entire season.. he decided to give Alabama the ball with interceptions and fumbles MULTIple times and with excellent field position to boot.. so really, at least 20 of Alabama's points were by Gilberts faults.

Does anyone know if there will be a video of the BCS game available with Eli Gold as play by play man? I was so disappointed when I could not listen to Eli and Phil via Tide TV. I live in Indiana and all season long I turn the TV volume down and turn up the internet feed. Imagine my disappointment when I could not hear the Alabama call for our biggest game of the year. It's still not available in the past games section either.

@cherokeedoll1 What you dont realize is that I HATE playing the what if game too, but W's and L's don't just pop out of no where. Sometimes teams win not because they're better that day, but at the expense of injury to their competitors, and I'm not just referencing the Texas-Bama game. Do you think if Texas' starting punter was injured we'd be saying we lost because of his injury? NO. Texas with McCoy may still have lost, but the fact is we never know how it would've gone with all of Texas guns

@jayfey77 look, yes it does, you just dont get it. lets use colts actual game info so you can see how completion rating works Colt had a game were he threw 28 passes, and completed 23( 82% which is very very high) he threw 3 picks( which is also very high) and 2 where dropped. there for he had an 82% passer rating. - - - you are still confusing Passer rating and completion rating, Colt is not the all time Passer rating best, he is the completion ratings best.

They had been watching film on "colt" and they handled him pretty good, for the few min he was in the game, they putuntil they put him out. Yeah, it was a game changer, but saying its a game changer is not the same as being an automatic win. Plus, None of those sports announcers knew that Greg McElroy was injured, that was a game changer as well

This is what gets me about you, some how you believe in the possibility that Colt McCoy would have threw for 500 yards vs Bama, but you dont believe of Bama holding him to 200 and just not allowing him to score as much as normal,

@Crimson13Tide I don't think Auburn has what it takes to win a NC, if they get by us somehow, take care of USC as expected, and play OU in the NC then they will win, if they play TCU or Boise(esp. TCU) I expect them to lose. I'm a firm believer in the statement that defense wins championships and TCU has the best defense of the top 3.

At least Alabama's leaders showed and gave thier hearts so they deserved it not tex. Saban may be many things but he got the Tide nation another NC so im happy idc how he is in person as long as he brings trophy's home. Hell bear bryant was a drunk and is one of the best ever.

Texas sacked McElory 6 times, 3 and outed Alabama for the entire 3rd quarter and half the 4th, kept McElory to only 6-11 (broken ribs my ass i haven't seen one report on that). If there's any team that's not "complete" it's Alabama. All they did was run with their HEISMAN winning RB, whereas our 2-time finalist heisman candidate QB couldn't physically throw for his life. Ingram had one touchdown in the first half and so did Richardson, and so did Dareus (he only had 1 TD so nice stats bud) Bama MISSED a field goal, didn't score in the second half until the final 2 minutes, and trent had a classless TD given at the VERY end of the game when Texas basically already lost. In my opinion, the game was 31-21
