Did you flush out your heater hoses both ways , till it ran clear .that`s what I do when no heat
@shaunsfrench19427 ай бұрын
i just did mine... an 08 and i hope i bleeed the system good. 1 thing idk how to do with that haha
@CringeComedyTV7 ай бұрын
It's real easy. Just loosen the bleeder screw and fill the cooling system until you see coolant coming out of the bleeder valve.

@@CringeComedyTV I do not know where its located but it didnt over heat i let it run for 15 min... capped it and put some in the other part lol took it for a 20 mile drive, but i notice i had no coolant in the upper hose after i shut it off. you know how the hose is to be solif... it was soft and didnt feel like coolant in the hose. so idk.

@shaunsfrench1942 There are lots of possibilities. The bottom radiator hose spring may have broken so it collapses; if it’s possible to do it safely, check it by getting under the car and feeling it while it idles and someone you can trust not to run over you gives it a few revs; you may feel it collapsing. Also check that the radiator recovery reservoir cap is holding pressure (or simply replace it - they are cheap). If it’s not holding pressure the radiator hoses will often feel soft rather than turgid. The radiator may also be blocked with either casting sand or silica that has fallen out of coolant (separated) that is well past its use by date (2 or 3 years); so flush the cooling system and radiator and refill with new coolant. If coolant concentrate rather than premix or the correct proportions of coolant concentrate and de-mineralised or distilled water has not been used the coolant may be becoming more viscous or even jello like in cold weather so the coolant circulates through the bypass system rather than the radiator that is exposed to the cold air. It can't be your thermostat if you replaced it correctly. Your water pump impeller may have corroded away; if you hold the top hose while someone gives the engine a few revs you should feel coolant pumping

@@CringeComedyTV I think i got it... i let it idle for 15 min steady with cap off... 2nd went reved it for 3 minutes each at 3 2 1 rpms and filled radiator and took it for a drive and let it sit for another 20 min at idle and it stayed right where it should be, heat was very hot. It had heat before the change, but was over heating. the 08 is way different then my 2016 Town & country

How do you bleed the radiator lines after you change the thermostat
@CringeComedyTV5 ай бұрын
I fill with distilled water. I jack up the front of the car to help air move out of the heater core and open the bleed screw to it, so it just barely dribbles out water then I wait for the thermostat to open a couple times. After I’m confident it’s bled I drain 2 gallons and put in concentrate. Also helps me find leaks before I spill antifreeze all over the place. Never had an issue with this method.
