2010 KTM 530 XC-W "dualsport" review

I have the 450 EXC here in South Africa and agree with you on it being a good regarding reliability and performance. Mine has done around 12K miles (20K km) and has been trouble free and runs very hard, I am still on the original piston. I would recommend this bike to anyone.

I believe it was a 3.2 if I remember correctly. Acerbis. I would get about 120 miles out of it.

Hi, I'm looking at a 530, and am going to use it for duel sport riding. what oil change times would you recommend?

I typically change the oil about 500 or so miles on my bikes. Never had any issues. Could be greater mileage than that depending on how I was riding. I've also used many different brands of oils. I tend to run Amsoil in my KTM as it's easily sourced locally. But I've run Rotella on more than one occasion when that's what I've had available to me. I usually change the oil filter every other oil change. I know the 09 and some early 10's had an oil usage issues.

A dual sport can be registered if it's a true dual sport and not a non street legal dirt bike. However, most dirt bikes can be made street legal in many states. But yes, it is a weird place as the rules can be different from state to state.
