@Pooz30 On laguna seca, supposedly after motortrend tested it. I haven't seen the 2 cars compete on an other race track. And since the boss they've tested is a laguna seca edition I don't think it was a fair competition.

@highflyer4 My fucking point was that the Cayman R is a 2-seat mid-engine sports car, the 1M is a 4-seat coupe with the engine up front. The Cayman R is also lighter than the 1M with about the same power. The Cayman was built purely for speed and it's not really practical. The 1M was meant to be a driver's car that is fun and comfortable enough to be used every day. Everyone knew that the Cayman beat the 1M because it's a different animal compared to the 1M. I'm impressed it was only 2 seconds.

Motortrend is doing a very good job with these lapped reviews, but I have one URGENT request! Plz get the audio done well. I want to hear the real car sound, not 10% exhaust sound and 90% wind. every video has that problem, the sound of the wind is getting in the way of the engine and exhaust note. If that can be fixed, it'll be brilliant!

@stigger91 The 1 series m is not cheaper then the boss, price as tested in this vid is 50k, boss price as tested in the other vid is 48k. This is a drivers car test not which car has the best back seats test. If you want usable back seats get the regular boss 302.

The 1M has very big potential to be a lot faster than the M3. It is lighter and with some simple ECU-exhaust-filter tuning power is easily bumped up to 420..

I don't think lap times are going to be a big deal with who they claim to be the best car. I don't know what else is going to be lapped, but based on Randy's feedback I don't think the 1 M is gonna be very high on the list. And if lap times were a big deal, then the Cayman S wouldn't have even come close to winning the last one.

Wow, the Cayman S PDK in the 2009 hot laps test was faster - 1:43.00 and now even the Evora S is almost a second faster. Not good enough for a M.
