Maybe , unlike the Mustang it has been around every year with out missing a year since 1964 ,the Firebird and the Camaro did not appear until what 1966 or 67 ,then they went away in 2003 because no body wanted them or the LS motor then they came back in 2009. Gotta say the Shelby is my favorite muscle car followed closely by the camaro with the challenger bringing up the end. but now with this new hellcat out and gm making the camaro even more squished, i think the camaro just dropped to third place. I'm also not too sure about the new 'stangs so the challengers could jump up to be my favorite looking muscle car. i just don't like the direction they've gone with the camaro, maybe all this hate you're seeing is because they are expressing their preference? idk just a guess.

So found out any one with a camaro can get the trans am conversion kit. It runs about 5000 dollars. I will be making my 2010 camaro in a phoenix trans am as soon as I can.

As long as you don't get a camaro with the sunroof there is plenty of head room. I'm 6'2" and have no issues with my non sunroof ss. The headliner is about 4 inches shorter for a sunroof model. I sat in both before buying mine there is a very noticeable difference.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who really appreciates the styling cues for the firebreather. Maybe if I were a die hard Camaro fan... but I don't see it as a Camaro anymore... hell, the Pontiac firebirds looked nearly identical to the Camaros for a long time. I actually love the way the firebreather looks, especially with a trans am paint job.

Jameel Haddad Hey dude, I started doing some concept sketching taking a 2014 Camaro as a base. I actually like my design a lot better than the firebreather's. I think mine retains the classic transam / firebird look but with an even smoother transition between old school and new school. I really want to get my hands on a real scaled model that I can play around with, or a 3D modeling computer program so I can work out the overall design kinks. I'd be happy to share a sketch with you if you are interested.

this firebreather is 50 more hp than the shelby. but the shelby is about 400 lbs lighter. a camaro ss is over 4000 lbs, then they added a supercharger and all its components. the shelby is 3800 lbs. i bet the shelby is quicker.

Jeff Rogers They tested both the ZL1 Camaro and Shelby against each other around this time and the camaro came out on top due to the IRS. The Shelby was quicker off the line and straight, but had issues cornering due to live axel. 400 difference between the two wasn't really that big considering the horse power and torque.

I remember when I first sat a camaro and couldnt see. Im 6 foot but when I found the power seat control 2 seconds later I realized I could lower it and everything is fine. My Dad is 6'3 and he fits fine as well. Always be smarter than the tools you use.

As a former owner of a Manual '00 Trans Am WS6 , and having driven a Manual SS2 Camaro. . . they get horrible milage. Stock I was getting high 30s on the highway, after Intake/Exhaust, low 40s (Holy Double Overdrive batman!) Meanwhile the SS2 was hard pressed to get 30. Which the F-Body could get after it recieved heads/Cam and was running E-85

Not so much a "versus" vid, but definitely a great review vid on both cars. Though I'm a Mustang fan, I totally love what they did to the Camaro to bring back the classic Firebird look of the old Ponchos. To this day, I'm still bothered that GM killed Pontiac; that was a great name with a great lineage of performance cars during the peak muscle car years. I miss the Poncho Sunbirds, Firebirds, and other great cars of that same line.
