when someone needs a light source for their normal analog boost gauge, they tap into a certain wire at the headlight switch plug. one of those wires will alert the P3 gauge that the headlights are on, and will dim it. first look up a DIY on removing your headlight switch. Then pull it out and unhook the harness from the back. Then peel back the felt tape a couple inches. Then once you find the correct wire, tap it in using a scotchbrite.

Tips? The main one is research your shops a lot before you bring it somewhere. You need a high quality shop as your ECU has to be broke open. In the early days some shops wouldnt seal it well, resulting in a bricked ECU weeks, months, or even a year later. And I recommend APR, and sale price only. $599 or something for the full flash with 4 different programs.

goes in the same spot your normal boost gauge lighting wire would go. one of those headlight harness wires. can't remember which one though. it is very critical and solves the blinding LED at night.

The S3 intercooler. The cheapest offering pretty much, with about 30% more volume than the stock GTI intercooler. Nice clean oem fit in stock location for about $300. But... the job isn't very fun.

no, not really any truth. an actual vacuum hose is technically more accurate, but the digital ECU reading is just fine too. That 5.72 was before K04 and before new tires. I think I could hit a 5.4s pretty easily now.

I totally agree man.. It's a disappointment. I wish they would have made something to compare with the STi and the Evo. Instead they made something not as powerful and quick and made it basically the same price. I love VW, but this is a mistake on their part.

The golf R is actually disappointingly slow in stock form man. Its sad, but true. In my mind its not worth the extra money here in Canada unless you really plan to mod the hell out of it, in which case then it will rock.
