They are- best in class, or at least they were. I did my research for years before I bought. One of the few cars that was recall free up until last year and even then it was mild stuff that never even affected us nor did we notice. Still took it in and they performed everything in a few hours and gave it back.

Nice and informative video. I'll be doing this later on in the year. Curious what the end goal was for the Kia Rio before you sold it to a family member? I was prepared to continue with everything you added until I realized I was about 3 years late lol.

Initially just to make it a little more fun to drive as a daily driver, and even better mpg- which I achieved (both). Eventually I wanted to turbo it because it would be the ultimate sleeper and because I've never seen anyone turbo a Rio before. @@92kbuilds-mn2lk, yeah bro, love your videos! Do you know how the turbo process would work? I'm currently INTERESTED! So far I have the aem cold air intake, red aluminum pulleys, straight pipe from the second cat, resonator, and ending with a cherry bomb muffler. The welding shop that did it just added the muffler with the original downpipe tip from the stock. I've thought about straight pipe all the way but it's a bit too loud when flooring it to 40-50mph. People look my way when I accelerate when I'm on the road. It does have a massive amount of drone. The only way I don't hear it as much would be at a constant speed of 70mph, anything else is straight drone. However, I do enjoy starting the car up in the morning with the little growl it has. I found a shop that's willing to tune my Kia but if there's a turbo option, I am open to ideas. I've got a recall getting done tomorrow. I'd say bro, I went a little crazy on this car after watching your videos. I got the ignition coils, spark plugs, solenoid timing valve sensor, new belt, new alternator & starter, LED fog & headlights, the same tire and rims you got, and 5% tint all around just for the heck of it. Sorry for this being long bro...

Oh no worries, I write books on here all the time lol. So the turbo would have to be custom- you would have to find a shop to do a custom build and it'd probably run 6 grand or more. My original thought was to swap the Hyundai Velositor 1.6 Turbo engine into it, which is the same engine but turbo'd. But all the wiring is different, all the couplers and harnesses are different between Hyundai and Kia, and the gauges and interface for literally everything is different. So basically you're better off just doing a custom turbo setup on the Rio engine- nobody makes a turbo kit for a Rio so everything would have to be custom. And you could only boost the stock engine a little bit because the compression is a little too high for boost and the internals are not built to be turbo'd so you'd have to build the engine as well if you wanted to do more than 5-6lbs of boost- that would bring the total probably closer to 10 grand. Next you'd probably be breaking axles and the transmission with all the added power if you went more than 5-6lbs of boost. The reciept just keeps getting longer and longer the faster you want to go lol...

For sure better/more cost effective to go with a different car, which is probably why you never see any of these turbo'd (which is why I wanted to do it). Stick around long enough and I might eventually do it once this channel grows and funds it...
