Spot-on review the 4th generation CR V is summed up perfectly by this review. Easy to live with, comfortable, spacious, adequate power... few hi tech innovations... exactly what our family needs. We have been driving rhe 2.4 5-speed auto for several months now and we love it.

The CR-V's dash and door panels are hard touch and regrettably so, however some vehicles will have more solid feeling hard plastics. The CR-V is just one of them, we actually never quite knocked on the previous Rav4's interior, aside from some cheaper looking switch-gear, we found the interior to be the norm in the class for its time. Even though the Rogue had soft-touch materials, we weren't too impressed with the overall quality which still felt lacking.

Down a gear? How would Honda change the ratios? Like Toyota's or Mazda's six speed with no difference between 5th and 6th, and too close of a 2nd to 3rd? Or like Ford's or Hyundai's six speed that practically have two first gears because they are so unnecessarily close? I'm telling you, and everyone that these five speed automatics are perfect.
@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan4 ай бұрын
I have a RAV4 that has an 8-speed automatic and while it does help with better fuel economy and acceleration, I think 5 and 6 speed automatics are perfect in terms of gear ratios, because it doesn’t have to hunt for that many gears.

You'll never see a Honda with a 4 cylinder and 6AT. The CR-V gets DI and a CVT next year or 2015. Honda already released all the information on their new earthdreams engines and transmissions and a 6AT for a 4 cylinder wasn't one of them. I don't mind because the CVT is a great gearbox.

One thing I do not like about Honda's is that you have to pay extra to get navigation and stuff like that the price that they're selling their vehicles for navigation should come standard instead of being add on!

Actually when I had a rental Camry when I was having my tailgate repaired (That was my fault lol) I thought of that.It's weird because you would think that they would choose the cheaper one out of the two but the accord starts at $21,680 and the Camry at $22,235. So I've looked for months and months for a new (used) SUV. I really really needed to replace my 05 Pacifica but there was literally nothing in our budget range. I lucked out with this 2013 Honda CR-V EX-L as I hear they last a long time. It's older then I wanted to get and spent way more for it but I'm hoping it was money well spent. I've never had a back up camera or heated seats, plus the previous owner installed a remote start so I'm a happy girl. I gotta say though... Even though my Pacifica was ancient, it was a touring model and man, comparing the two, the Pacifica is still just a smoother ride then what I just bought and the interior just looks better. I can honestly say, even though a replacement was much needed, I'm gonna miss my Pacifica. Now I just need to try to sell it. Blah lol

That's funny , rough life. The CR-V will last FOREVER if you take care of it. Extremely safe cars that have high functionality. All my families Honda's are paid off with regular maintenence and upkeep. Different level of build quality.

@@karley3679 Indeed Karley , you did pay more because of the rediculous market. Used and well taken care of Honda , Toyota , Acura , and Lexus are worth it because the reliabilty is so strong. All you have have to do is stay up on the maintenance schedule , ice cream and cake ride. Oh , go to your Honda dealership for regular maintenance and have a couple excellent mechanics as well.

Its a budget car. No other car can beat the CRV in space and versatility. Which are more important for a family. But the sound system and navigation is horrible. Very reliable daily driver. Underpowered but the gearing and torque is just right to provide you enough acceleration in the city but on the freeway not a lot of power in higher gears for passing. Great road trip car due to massive space both upfront and in the back. Fold flat rear seats are amazing. I can afford a lot better (Lexus, Acura, Infinity, Cadillac, Merc) but no other car in the same class is as spacious as the CRV. As a reference I once fit 6x8Ft foldable tables and 42 foldable chairs in it for my kids party!

The Softex seats are very convincing as real leather and the average person would never know the difference. As for the dash, it's stitched (with real stitching) and is no worse than any luxury brands that use it (they aren't using real leather either). It's much better than the acres of hard plastic in the CR-V. 2theredline has a huge bias for Honda and against Toyota, if the situation was reversed we'd be hearing about how Toyota is going down the drain and how the RAV4 has all hard plastic.

People bi*** about Honda's choice to "copy" the XC60's tail lights but you do realize the CR-V has had the same basic design since it's introduction back in 1996 right? You must feel really strong about your hate for the styling of the CR-V, and while it's not everyone's cup of tea, is it really that bad? If it orks well on the XC60, (Which I love) why is it so terrible here? The new Accord is a nice looking car, it looks like a Genesis or 5 series, does that make it an ugly car too?
