actually for every toyota and subaru keyless system, when you open the driver door and the transmission position is not in P, the beep will turn on to indicate that the transmission need to be moved to P. It also notify you via the MID in the speedo or the key with ! logo.

Haha. They show their customers who bought their new Subaru cars the features, engines, and what not there, so they did have the engine running there for sometime before. I know it's dangerous, but they do have sufficient ventilation systems to filter the air out. =)
