When the trans fluid is that dirty, you must remove the pan, change the filter, clean the magnets, clean the sludge deposits on the pan, reinstall the magnets on the pan dimples, change the pan gasket, then after changing the plug metal washer that you crush upon tightening, refill with WS trans fluid checking both cold, go for a drive then recheck warm.

Where can I purchase right transmission filter kit for Toyota rav4 2012? Thank you. I go to many autoshops asked change transmission fluid and filter too, They said Toyota rav4 no filter, so confused.

@@foodielaochan The 4cyl ravs from 06-12 has no filter, Just a mesh strainer so its not as important on that model. the 6cyl has a proper filter that should be changed.

@@wahidw Liters. You measure how much comes out, replace that amount.

@@wahidw Buy 4 quarts of Toyota WS Transmission fluid. Do not use a substitute. About 3 to 3 1/2 quarts will drain out. Measure how much comes out and refill with the same amount.
