2012 ZX14R Destroys a Turbocharged Hayabusa

www.dragbikeliv... - Rickey Gadson aboard his Jones Performance built Turbocharged 2012 Kawasaki ZX14R completely destroys a turbocharged Suzuki GSXR1300 Hayabusa at Indianapolis Raceway ont he 1/4 mile track. This was only the 2nd time the bike had been entered into a racing event. Gadson qualified the ZX14R in the #1 position and won the event also.

both are turbo bikes, you can see the turbo on the ZX14R at 0:25 the title is misleading, sounds like only the Busa is turbo and loses to a naturally aspirated ZX14R.

Lower ET, but 2mph lower trap speed. Wouldn't call it destroying it. They're both badass bikes, though. I also love how mad ZX14 and Hayabusa riders get about this shit, especially when these same owners are still running around on near-stock bikes or have never done an impressive quarter mile run in their life.

...And the ZX14 has a turbo too. This is probably the 1650cc class so technically they could both be big motors. Both probably have big piston kits in them. Nothing destroyed anything though, it was about as equally matched as you can get.

Busa is a great bike too but it does not speak to me.It does not mean that I disrespect busa riders and thair choice.If you compare any bikes with turbo or not at the end is about how to use yuor skills combined with bike's power.You can have much weaker bike and still know how to use 100% of it. It seems like there are plenty of youtube comment experts on here but I'll chime in... I wouldn't say 9 hundredths of a second would be considered "destroyed." Lets acknowledge that both of these bikes are VERY fast machines and not stock. Also, the board kind of tells the whole story. Though the busa made it to the trap .09 seconds later, it had a higher trap speed. It comes down to launch at this point. I would be if they ran again the Busa would have a pretty fair chance of winning. Or if they switched riders the numbers would be switched up.

For lack of experience riders the busa is turbo and the zx is nitrous. You can clearly see the zx has no turbo setup on it. Especially not with a side-winder on it. A win is a win, a lose is a lose. Inch or mile.

Put a 1441 piston kit in any Hayabusa and it'll walk all over the 14r. Seen those kits put out over 240+ hp on the suzuki. Stock kawasaki makes around 180-190.

Only thing i preferred was my riding position on my Busa.. and maybe the sound. My friend had a blackbird not long ago. That thing rode like a dream, better than both of these by a lot. Well, until it came to heavy cornering - then the bird became a workout.

When you destroy someone you should probably have a higher trap speed and atleast a 10th or more on the ET! A 7.93 vs 8.04 is about a blink at the line while the losing bike actually had a higher trap speed bye about 2mph which is more impressive than the 7.93 to a 8.04ET. Taller gear in the Busa would have lowered the trap speed but most likely got the Suzuki to the line at around the same time as the ZX14 or possibly before! I think wood for Gadson or Kawasaki has inflated your judgement.

The Busa wheelied and had to back it off and was running a faster MPH at the end, he was going to pass him had he had more room. the Kawasaki is a fast bike but he never even came close to "destroying" the Busa.

we all can talk numbers all we want, but what it really comes down to is RIDER not the RIDE, Both were fast though and it coulda went either way but Ricky beat him off the tree and thru the 60ft mark making it hard for the busa to catch him, but if the busa started a tad bit faster, he might have won. I was stating make the Hayabusa have the same cc motor size as the 14r and it will walk all over it. Its just a fact. A Hayabusa will put out way over 200hp with a 1441 kit and ported heads.
