This German sports sedan offers a high-quality interior, impressive fuel economy, and an even balance between ride comfort and handling ability. The Audi A6 is worth buying, but make sure you check out its competitors as well.
Although the A6’s optional engines provide plenty of power, its base engine disappoints. Output ranges from 220 horsepower in the 2.0T Premium trim to 420 horsepower in the S6. A continuously variable (automatic) transmission comes in 2.0T models. An eight-speed automatic comes with other models. Fuel economy ranges from 17-25 mpg in the city to 27-33 mpg on the highway, which is good for the class. A turbodiesel engine comes with TDI models (though sales are limited, following issues related to the Volkswagen emission scandal). The A6 maintains an even focus between a supple ride and sharp handling. However, its steering isn’t as responsive as some other luxury midsize cars . Front-wheel drive comes standard, but quattro models have all-wheel drive.
Inside, the A6 features high-quality materials and a sleek design. It comes standard with seating for five, leather upholstery, driver’s seat memory, and heated and power-adjustable front seats. Some models come with ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. The front seats are comfortable, even for taller drivers. There’s plenty of room in the back seats, but they are mounted too low for optimal comfort. The A6 is one of the best luxury midsize cars for installing child seats. It comes with two complete sets of LATCH car-seat connectors in the rear outboard seats and a tether-only connection in the middle seat.
Tri-zone automatic climate control and a sunroof come standard. The included MMI infotainment system works well, but some rival systems are easier to use. It comes with a 10-speaker audio system, satellite radio, and Bluetooth phone connectivity. If you’re a music lover, look for models with either the Bose 14-speaker or Bang & Olufsen 15-speaker audio systems. Navigation comes in Premium Plus trims and higher, but its graphics aren’t as crisp as other systems on the market.

A little tip for anybody who's planning on doing this themselves. You better be 100% sure you know what you're doing, because you can cause thousands of dollars worth of damage by doing a simple oil change incorrectly. - Overtightening the oil filter cap can crack the oil filter housing. This will cause a major oil leak. - Undertightening the oil filter housing cap will cause a oil leak. - Overtightening the oil drain plug will make it impossible for you to remove it the next time you do an oil change. - Undertightening the oil drain plug will cause an oil leak. - Adding too much oil will cause certain parts to explode. - Adding too little oil will cause overheating and bad performance of your vehicle. It's very, very important to double and triple check all of these things and to make sure you're putting the right type and amount of oil in your vehicle. Don't ask me how I learned this.
