I've had my 2014 GS 350 F-sport for a little over two years now. Bought at around 87 000 miles and it's currently at 115 000. It's been by far my favorite car I've ever owned. I also had the sunroof clunk sound as many other, but fixed it easily myself by replacing the rubber seal (plenty of youtube tutorials). I was very lucky in that I bought it just before prices started going up - paid just over $20k from a dealership in NorCal. They only had it for two days before I flew over and bought it, I didn't want to waste any time as it had all I wanted in a GS, including the Mark Levinson sound system. I will keep this one for a long time, and hope to upgrade to a 2020 GS-F down the line.

I love, love, LOVE my 16 GS350 F-Sport AWD!! I've had cars with 3x the horsepower, and I do miss that sometimes. But, the overall driving experience, comfort, and reliability (I'm past 120k miles) are unmatched! The interior still looks and feels brand new, too. It shows almost zero wear, and EVERYTHING works. Try and find that in any other brand at 8+ years old and north of 120k miles. These cars Just. Hold. Up.

I have the same car, but mine is RWD & it's easily the best car I've owned so far. I bought it almost four years ago with 41k miles, now with 76k miles & still feels just as solid as a new one. Defiantly not planning on replacing it anytime soon!

Thanks for another great video. I drive the 2013 GS350 RWD and it's been great all this time. With a family of 4 the space at the back and the boot space it's amazing too for my needs. The greatest thing is that with the GS350 you don't need the F-sport at all. The 6 speed is really not bad and to me it feels a little fast, maybe it's just me. A friend of mine has the GS350 F-sport and his breaks costs double the cost of mine even though the vehicles have the same power and speed. Keep well Kevin and keep the great work.

I really like the 8 speed with my 2015 F Sport. I'll write a bigger check when it comes time for brakes and tires. EDIT: The adaptive suspension is phenomenal, too. I'm still exploring the limits of traction and, with the competition tires on it, it's hard to get it to break loose. Lean is minimal, too. Either way, the GS is a great car.

My GS is 17 years old and It's been wonderful. It now has 125,000 miles and I wouldn't trade it for a new one. I drove a new loaner Lexus 2022 ES for a few days and I can honestly say my old GS is just a good on every level. Of course, the infotainment system is out of date. I installed an after market Tesla style 12.8" touch screen system and it fit the dash like a factory fit item. Navigation and electronics work fine. I bought this car 12 years ago 18K + an extended warranty. It had engine issues which Lexus fixed with no cost. I live in California so rust is not an issue. I maintain this car religiously. Last year my wife and I took and 8,000 mile trip. The Lexus performed flawlessly. The biggest problem with any of these cars is the lack of maintenance and owner abuse. 10,000 mile oil changes don't cut it. Most people are either to lazy or just clueless when it comes to maintenance. Oh well.......

I first had a 2017 IS200t F-Sport that I bought used in late 2018 & loved that car, but was thinking about it for months & eventually upgraded to a 2016 GS350 F-Sport just less than two years later. It had 41k miles when I bought it for $31k (Original MSRP $58k), now with 71k miles & has been problem free so far as expected. I wasn't planning on buying one, but needed a bigger car & for a few other reasons. I didn't want to replace my IS, but I love the GS a lot more for many reasons & after three years of ownership I still can't get enough of how great it is especially for the price I paid for it & I would easily buy another one.

Biggest issue I've had with my IS300h is all the creeks from the centre console, really bad as well when going around corners fast as the chassis flexes, even worst (and embarrassing) when a passenger sits next to you with their knee pushing into it. I've fixed 99% of these myself by stripping down the centre console and adding loads of felt, but still have one really bad creak that evades me. Other than that the IS is a great car, but very much needs updated power trains.

I think that both are great cars. I’ve had a big body Lexus before (02 LS430) and wanted something a bit more compact/sporty looking. A few months ago I was able to find a 14 IS 350 F Sport with 26k miles. Absolutely in love with it. Only thing that bothers me are the slight creaks/rattles but the roads where I live are terrible, other than that she drives like a dream. I see myself owning it for a long time, though I wouldn’t mind going for a GS F sometime down the road.

I found a GS 350 from 2015 with 187k miles. I test drove it, looked it over (it had some cosmetic stuff, plus probably small accidents not listed in carfax). It was drives like a brand new car despite the flaws and mileage. I paid $13k for it. And I really like it a lot already after 2 days. The interior looks like a new car. Even the seats. The engine had a no oil leaks. And the transmission shifts great. I like it better than my 2012 Infiniti m37 that got totalled. The Infiniti transmission would get stuck in gear sometimes. That was annoying. The high mileage GS 350 is for my wife that drives 20k miles in 5 years. Perfect for her. I drive it on the weekends with the family. We are all small, so it's perfect for us 4 (wife, me, daughter and son). Not ideal for 5 people due to the hump in the rear middle seat. The IS 350 would be a better fit for bigger individuals (6ft or taller) and a family of 5. Thanks for the video!

I remember thinking back then, what great prices on these since I knew about the quality, refinement, and reliability. I also knew that it was an SUV world and if anyone is looking at a luxury sports sedan, they were looking at the Germans. Perfect pieces for a buying opportunity. Especially for a 3 or 4-year-old car you could have saved almost 40% off of the new price. That was going to be my buying formula. I was lucky that I was able to land one before it hit the fan. Lol

Back in 2020 I wanted to upgrade from my old 1998 Lexus ES 300. I test drove a 2014 Lexus IS 250. My girlfriend and baby didn’t fit too comfortably in the back and I didn’t like the tight feel up in the drivers seat area. The center console was so high up that I felt like I was in a jet due to how little space there was and I’m only 5’8. A couple of weeks later I test drove a 2013 GS 350 by myself and automatically knew it was the right size for me & my family plus there was much more open space up in the drivers seat area! No awkwardly placed center console & cupholders. The front of the car/grill looks mean as hell. From the side.. it’s a bit meh. I definitely love the side profile of the IS. But the front/grill of the IS looks kind of funny. Trade offs. Pros & cons lol I bought a used 2013 Lexus GS 350 with Luxury package for $16,499 which was actually a pretty good deal. Yes the car had 106k + miles buuuut it was a single owner car and kept in great condition! Thanks to your 250k Lexus GS review I ended up deciding the GS was the way to go. These things are beauties and very reliable. 🚗

I did some research using this and other vids, and just bought a 2016 GS350. It’s really a good car. I had lots of cars to look at, and Bought a one owner used, and found an exec model. I’ve put 600 miles on it, my mechanic and I went through the entire car. Fixed the timing chain cover oil seeping. (Meh,don’t care). This is a really good car, fun to drive. Don’t expect good gas mileage, I didn’t, and it doesn’t, don’t care, premium gas. Good video, and accurate assessment of the gs350.

Great breakdown on the two Lexus cars! I recently purchased a 2015 GS350 F Sport. I looked for 6 months before I found the right one. Service history was complete with every maintenance item since the car was new performed on time at a Lexus dealer. Car must have been owned by a couple car guys previously because, although it has 81,000 miles, it looks and drives like it has 5,000. Previous owners and history are so important when looking for one of these. I rejected dozens before finding this one. Since it is a glorified Toyota, I'm hoping to maintain it and get another couple hundred thousand miles out of it. IMO, the guys who have problems may have purchased cars with sketchier histories (or just gotten unlucky). Loving my Ultra White, Cabernet (red) interior, runs like new, completely ultra quiet interior (except for minor performance tire noise) Lexus so far. Thanks again!

GS for certain. The gadgets you get on a GS 2016-2020 are comparable to luxury cars nowadays (HUD, ACC, adaptive highbeam 18-way power fromt seats with memory, adaptive variable suspension and other comfort equipments). It is lucky that Lexus discontinued GS in 2020 instead of in 2015 so GS can still get a more modern Lexus look despite the fact that it eas discontinued.

I dont mean to talk bad on the IS but it is true, I loved my Is when I had it. However there is no reason to get the newer IS unless its the 500 because you can buy a used GS for less and have a way better car in terms of size and overall quality.

I don’t know about the "production" bit. The GS with it's performance aspect just didn't have the same appeal as the cheaper (ie. cost and fuel) and more common ES models. Lexus cannibalized their own sales regarding the GS with the ES. The GS just couldn't compete.

Comparably I'd consider a GS350. Am I correct in assuming that if I got an IS350, cabin wise, it would be roughly the same as having a civic sedan? The Stinger was a blast to drive. I had never had a car like that before. The GS is smooth and you can certainly feel the quality. The Stinger had good quality, but in the end, it was a Kia. I had numerous issues with the car. Within a week, the paint on the hood started to come off. That took two weeks to fix. I also had to replace the rotors twice. The first time Kia paid, but they would not pay for the second repair. So I took it to my local tire shop. After I got rid of the car, I got a letter from Kia saying that they knew there was a issue with the rotors and offered to fix them. Too Little, too late.

i drove my IS for a total of 6 months and i hated it more and more with each passing month! i drove my GS for exactly 5 Years and i still love it! i got an LS now but i will for sure miss my Comfy GS P.S. IS: this garbage only got "Hold Assistent" since the 2021 model - even tho GS has it since 2012 and they could have just take it from there ? not to wait 8 damn years!

My facelift 4GS450h is almost at 90.000 KM now. Only real issue I have is my rear taillights are wet on the inside, which doesn't fall under the 10 year extended warranty. During maintenance earlier this week it turned out my front breaking discs are slightly warped.

I canceled. I am waiting for a cx70, but honestly, in this environment of making you wait so long for cars, I actually get tired of looking at the cars over and over again in reviews that by the time it finally becomes available, it feels old to me. I was super excited over the NX. Now it feels like a 5-year-old car. I have seen plenty of commercials on it but it seems like smoke and mirrors. Who knows, maybe if there are enough available that I could test drive one, I might change my mind again. I am trying to find that Goldilocks just right compact SUV, but it seems that it is difficult to find for me. Either it's too expensive for what they offer, or too long of a wait for the trim you want, or if I go for one such as the upcoming Mazda cx70, doesn't save you on as much gas as I would like. However, if it is reliable and refined, I'll take it. I believe I am only going to do this 1 more time. I am not one to buy short-term. My GS has 30k miles, and if I share that with a new SUV, that should be my last purchase.

If you are still looking, I actually have had both, and 05 LS430 with the 18inch wheels and the GS350 F Sport RWD, and I honestly recommend the GS350 because you specified “quite quick”. The LS430 was so so so beautiful all around, no creeks/rattles at all, but it just wasn’t fast enough for the times I wanted to go to the canyons. LS for cruising GS for spirited cruising

Between the 2013-2015 GS350 model years, which (a) drive train I.e. Awd or Rwd., and (b) transmission I.e., 6 or 8 speed., would be most suitable for an exciting driving experience I.e., cornering, handling, etc.?

Do these 2013+ Lexus products have a reliable Mark Levinson sound system? I'm currently in the market for a GS350 F-Sport, GS450h fourth AND third generation. Coming from a LS430 owner, who had to replace the whole sound system in the car, and never wants to spend that much money on car audio again.

Should buy a warranty if you don’t want worries but sadly once the warranty expires you will be in a constant state of worry again..
@wj6107

I actually have seen more problems reported with the Mark Levinson on the forums, but the flip-side to that is some people actually prefer the base audio, especially in the earlier years (13-15). I think to my ears the Mark Levinson sounds maybe 10-15% better, but I see what people mean, as when playing from a low quality audio source it feels more punchy than the Lev. Also base audio engineered by Pioneer and fewer problems reported.

@@wj6107ML does have issues with the amp going. About 1k to replace. The base IS sound is bad, and worse than the base 2nd gen IS audio, from what I was told From what I’ve read the sound quality on the IS with the ML is better than the GS with the ML, both the same reliability
