this is why sometimes the players with nothing to lose are the most dangerous
@ragu1daboss10 жыл бұрын
This is why Rafael Nadal is one of my favourite and inspirational tennis player ever. He loses the first round of Wimbledon. If I was in that situation, I would have cried in the locker room and I would have been shamed to go on the court again, suffering from lack of confidence. But what does Nadal do?...he puts everything behind even the defeat and he goes back on the court and practices again, even harder. In the next 6 months, he wins 2 Masters titles (Montreal & Cincinatti back to back defeating Djokovic) and wins the US open. This was a huge learning lesson for me and has helped me a lot throughout my life since then. Nadal proved how to just keep going and do your best even when you find yourself in the lowest and worst position. Nadal will always stay in my memory.. - True Rafa fan

Nadal was simply outplayed. I still laugh at people who suggest that his knees aren't 100% or he lacked match play from last year. LOLOOOOL. Please! Since his return this year, he's won, what, 7 titles and was almost unbeatable. Lack of match play? Suuure.

Nadal's game his not suited to grass. His heavy topspin is not that efffective on grass since the ball tends to skid more on grass. Still appreciate the fact that he worked on his game, reached 5 finals of Wimbledon and won 2 Wimbledon titles. This is an achievement in itself and shows Nadal's willingness to win. Wimbledon is tougher tournament to win. Even player's like Lendl could not do it at his prime.

Nadal was far from his best, but that was amazing from Darcis. His game was outstanding and some of the balls he got back were insane. Proves without a doubt his win against Berdych in the Olympics last year was no fluke.

I don't think Nadal was injured this time. There are no excuses, there's just a really good day for a good opponent. You can't take off merit from Darcis when he played really good points. I feel for Nadal.. When it seems his opponents aren't that good, he ends up being put through a hell of a fight... Rosol last year for example, played a terrific 5th set that Nadal would never have won... This year this happens... Nadal only played 1 grass match this year. That's the grass season for you...

He did not pretend he was injured or ill, if u listened to the press conference he said one day u play well and the next u don"t. he had one it around four or five times before, let alone the winner of Roland Gaross among other ATP tournaments after his come back, which proves he is a great player, but people afraid of his great games are now happy and find it in them to talk bull shit about him bec. they are relieved as he is in no one"s way...Be fair in your criticism

I wish some people could just stop sourgraping about Rafa's loss. Darcis did a great job that's why he won, not because Rafa, as some fans are trying to imply, wasn't in absloute shape. Pffftt! Give his opponent some credit! He fucking deserves his victory! >.
@1bhcslabrouzirachid11 жыл бұрын
That wasnt a lucky day for Rafa. I dont know if the problem was the knee, not adapt well in grass, attitude,... well just courage, rest and good luck for rest of the season. I will say the same for Roger. Then we'll see a great final between Andy and Novak but I think this wimbledon is not the same without the two greatest players of all time.
@johnnychiou20089 жыл бұрын
Nadal is a two times Wimbledon champion and three times runner up. This shows that Nadal has a lot of achievement and confidence on this court. But who can tell me why did he lose before round 4 in the previous three years?
@Beechaii29 жыл бұрын
johnny chiou Nadal is not a natural grass court player, so inconsistency is expected. Plus his victories in Roland Garros and clay court season the previous years meant he came into the Championships physically worn. But that's no excuse, he never was a proper grass court player and its no surprise he has been so vulnerable in the first week at Wimbledon, especially against big servers and heavy hitters with the likes of Klizan, Krygios and Rosol.

And now Dustin Brown. Again!
@kristapspavitols114811 жыл бұрын
Let's wait until Nadal and Djokovic end their careers and then we could say who of these 3 is the best. If we had TWO clay court Grand Slams and only ONE hard court Grand Slam, then perhaps it would be Nadal with 17, but Federer with 12 Grand Slam titles. You can look from both sides at 2013 French Open - Nadal forced Novak to become nervous and Novak started to make big misses. That point when Novak lost a point because he touched the net was not a mistake by referee. Nadal was a better player.

Darcis absorbed Federer's soul and used it's power to destroy Nadal. Then by defeating him, he also took Nadal's soul but it was too much for his body to handle, therefore he had to retire with an injury problem.
@tomsega11 жыл бұрын
I think Djokovic and Murray will remain the top 2 for a very long time, in whichever order. Everybody else in the top 10 is either coming down the hill or, in the case of Del Potro and Tsonga, probably not quite good enough to break the top 2.
@Zeroasd69311 жыл бұрын
Good reminder for hard-core Nadal fans that think he's the GOAT or is a better player than Federer. Undoubtedly, he is the best clay player yet; however, try getting near Rod Laver and Sampras's career success first before trying to compare him with Federer on equal terms. At 32 and he still has not have 1st round exit from a Grand Slam yet. Nadal deserve great respect but stop using the injury excuse to defend him, Federer had back injuries for years and had not cried out that as an excuse.

Just for the record Nadal never mentioned his knees after losing. He gave credit to Darcis. Yet i don't get why people continue to say he makes excuses. Yes. The player just has to believe in himself and attack. Don't get trapped into mind games Nadal plays. Just have a killer feeling and feel like kicking Nadal's ass. Then, anyone with a flat and aggressive game can win against Rafa. It usually the mental vulnerability that gets players otherwise if they forget for sometime that its Nadal, the devil ....it shouldn't be all that hard.
