Hey buddy, thanks so much for posting this video. This is exactly the same issue going on my mom's Ford Edge. I managed to fix this in a couple minutes once I got into where the switch is. Easy peasy fix. I had called a Ford Dealership this morning looking for the part (just in case) and they don't sell just the switch. They replace the entire shifter. I was quoted $485 CDN plus labour for them to do the work. Heck no!!! The switch is about $5-10 if it needs to be replaced (likely not). So again, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Great video and explanation.

We just got a 2013 last week and this issue occurred. We found your video and it worked!! The only thing is, he wasn’t sure exactly how much to bend it or in which direction, we keep watching it trying to see lol. It’s happening again already so we think we were too gentle with the metal maybe. But thank you, this was a great video- love the outro 😂

I’m having the exact opposite problem, the thing won’t come out of park and I’ve already bent the metal a bit. What do you recommend? I’m in a 2013 Ford Edge S and all the parts are the same with what you were dealing with. I’ll keep looking stuff up.

Look at the micro switch. If you are physically going into park, but the electronics don't recognize that, the micro switch could be bad.
