Over 24000 miles on my 2019 Ford fusion titanium hybrid I love it!! Comfortable very reliable car full of technology!!! I mean can't ask more, I don't need a speed racer, I bought for efficiency not speed , what everyone forgets about one buying this car unless you get a regular gas or sport model!

the blade is mainly for if the car battery is dead therefore no power to use the code or the key fob

Sorry. That's inside the key fob to the key fob itself and that way you can turn it. You'll figure it out if you look close enough or you can read the owners manual better. You're welcome.

Yes, it is physically connected. I could feel the lock moving when I had the key in the door.

You Forgot a feature Auto windows: If the windows are down and you press 2 times and hold the lock button down. They will go up. And if you press the unlock button the same way they will go down.

What happens if the car battery completely dies? Is the key (once inserted into the lock) physically connected to the lock mechanism in the door? I hope it's not some goofy deal where even using the key your still just activating the motor for the powered door locks.

Hard to turn... try mounting the internal key back into fob in reverse and use the fob as leverage.
