Verrazano has been tested...He won the Wood Memorial by half a length and He placed 14th in the Kentucky Derby.

Not sure what you mean by this. Verrazano ran in the Pegasus Stakes after the Derby.

you could be right, but i just question races like that when they are won by a wide wide margin that it could be misleading in the future is verrazano really that much better than oxbox i doubt it but hes very much on target for the travers now then the classic! what i like about him is that he can a big move and still maintain it

Yeah I agree, too soon to tell if he's better than oxbow considering I heard oxbow had a soft tissue injury form this race.... Only thing is verrazano except in the kentucky derby is unbeaten, but that's probably still not enough

Johnny Velasquez has a hard hold of him the entire time...this horse wanted to go...Velasquez let up on his hold just a bit and the horse took off...then entering the stretch with the mildest of encouragement Verrazano really lets loose. Slow fractions? Yeah, but still a nice performance by both horse and jockey.

Oxbow won the Preakness and was 2nd in Belmont, so how can you say he beat no one lol? Plus he got a 116 Beyer, not many horses around running beyers like that.

Oxbow didn't fire his best race ,otherwise the margin of victory would have been less than it was.

lol really, if it wasn't for verrazano no telling how slow this race would have been -.- (what is wrong with this year??) but he did do it effortlessly and he looked like he had plenty left so have to give him that :D I think as long as he stays sound he's gonna be a great one.

Again hasn't been tested Oxbow is overrated and he hasn't ran since the derby. Fresh horse clearly had an advantage here
