This is not the the veloster turbo. This is the aspirated version. You can see in this vid that 0 to 100km/h does in 9 sec.

Only the regular Veloster auto has the dual clutch. The Turbo auto does not have a dual clutch. The numbers released on multiple forums show that the Turbo manual has a faster 0-60 and higher MPG numbers. The VT is still not going to be able to get below a 7 sec 0-60. Every other car in it's class has a much better power/weight ratio with similar HP/toruqe numbers and barely get under the 7 second mark. I still love this car; for the price, the gadgets, the style, and the pep, it's amazing.

This is the same case as the 2013 gencoupe. People freaked out when a previous test showed that it did 0-60 in around 6.5 seconds. Then car and driver insideline and so on recorded low 5's. I expect the same for this car. In US trim with a manual you are looking at mid to low 6's.

He didn't launch very hard but you can tell that the hard stock tires did squeal. It comes with hard tires to get its 38 MPG rating and they come with a 2 yr warranty. Soft summer tires are an option that will get it down to about 6.4 secs. It has a basement first gear that is more suitable to drag launches. It is not a GTI, it has a suspension for daily driving. The GTI feels like the wheels are welded to the chassis. It's called a Mustang if you want to talk affordable 0-60 times.

uhm no ... a Golf GTI does not do 0-60 in 6 seconds. And also .. the Veloster has less power and less torque and is only a 1.6L, the difference in speed is negligible considering the displacement difference ... but the Veloster is much better looking than the accountants Golf, much better on fuel.. and on the more subjective matter, much "cooler"

Of course I own, one of the many cars we own. It does do 0-60 in 6 seconds because I had a couple of races with the same buddies and the little golf but a G37 coupe, Mustang GT, a V6 Altima and as well as a V6 Camaro. So if you got your 0-60 time of the GTI off some website I'm guessing that's why you're misinformed. The GTI isn't just a fun car it's a great all-rounder and is probably the best car you can buy fully equipped for 30k.

if you can achieve it, then you would have to say it is accurate. 0-60 in 5.5 was achieved on a manual tl therefore the car is ABLE to do so. not saying EVERYONE can do it. if it has been done, then the car is able to achieve that time. and i also have heard of a stock gti doing 5.8. many things can come into factor such as sea-level, humidity of the weather, temp, etc. but again, the car is ABLE to achieve those numbers, not everyone will.

GTI with these options = 5+ grand more. If you want an exciting hot hatch for a decent price buy a Mégane RS and stay away from German cars. German = technique 10/10, excitement 0/10. And if you buy a Veloster, you are guaranteed to be the only one driving it for miles around if you are living in the EU. I have one for almost a year now, very happy with it and quality wise it's alot closer to German standards then a few years ago. And I can compare...I drove a MB Sport Coupé before this.

Achieving that time a few times, does not count as an accurate measurement, tbh ... have you ever done it yourself? Do you fancy launching the fucking ass out of your own car to achieve the ABSOLUTE max acceleration, every day? I doubt you do, therefore it is irrelevant. A GTI, driven by a normal person, launching the car, normally will not do 0-60 in 6 seconds, that is .. a fact. 6.4.. to 6.8, ok, sure maybe, 5.8? lol - most people would struggle hard to get an Evo to 60mph in under 6 seconds.
