Could you see the leak on the rear housing easily or was it hard to notice that was where the leak was coming from?

It was wet all over that area only thing back there to leak so replace it when you get it off you will see that the plastic is split

Silicone on the rubber o-ring seal?

Unfortunately yes you think the orings would last but they don’t

@Richierock1 in my experience it isn't the o-ring that fails, it's the plastic the part is made out of that breaks and causes the leak.

@@brianH45 well your right there I just seen many parts leak because of the oring getting twisted or deformed so I put the sealer on them to help out , you can do what you prefer

did you have to drain down the coolant all the way before starting or is it high enough to just pinch off the hoses?

I put a pan underneath the back of the engine and remove the housing then blow air around it to help blow it out a little more and rinse it off with washer solvent then clean up the surface

I did the same thing but mine keeps the engine light on i went and check it again and now its saying that i have a high voltage thermostat circuit? Why is that

Disconnect the battery start over

Fyi amazon sells one that is made out of aluminum for like 30 dollars, better than plastic

1/4 inch ratchet couple short extensions and 10 mm deep and shallow socket and a 8 mm socket

Hi Whats the name of the bottom hose u took off the coolant housing. Im trying to replace that hose it have a hole/leak that spit out the antifreeze all over engine.
