Thank you for this video. I watched it a few times before replacing mine and it went super smooth and my car works great again. Only needed two tools. A socket wrench with a 10mm socket and an adjustable wrench. Took 5 minutes to replace.

I love you brother I’m in California Los Angeles and I took my car to AutoZone and it showed up with antilock brake system powertrain system, and it showed up with left front wheel speed sensor brake pedal switch a lost communication with ECM battery voltage circuit voltage below threshold so many problems, but they were saying that the main problem could be the fuel system pressure too low and also brake sensor was another pop up but just was watching your video. I’m gonna change my part and I’m gonna get back to you.

My engine was cutting out after driving it a while on my focus titanium I replaced the high-pressure fuel pump problem persisted. I however persisted by replacing the small fuel pressure sensor that plugs in in the screws it’s a small part I don’t remember the part number and after the third try with a used part problem went away and my car even has better compression. For this problem appears to start from the smallest part persist on the small part, and then move to the larger ones like the high-pressure fuel pump, then into the actual gas tank.

​@@86282l I had an independent mechanic change the high pressure pump that is located on top of the engine and he broke that clip on that output gas line. That missing clip, holds the hose to the fuel pump outlet on the left side of the high pressure fuel pump, plugs into that. So I noticed when my car continued cutting out after driving for a good amount of time, parked, did my errand came back and cut out upon starting up, but the last time it actually spewed fuel all over and I smelled fuel, strong smell. Opened up the hood and that hose had come off! So, I had to make shift jam paper towels, wet so they dried hard, to hold the hose attached to the outlet hose part of the high pressure fuel pump. Drove to the junk yard and found the hose with intact clip, I needed that clip to lock that hose to the HPFP. Then, it held. BUT! I did not get the little gaskets, the hose is firmly, griped to the outlet BUT is still has play, and sometimes the cuttng out of fuel happens. SO, I need to reinstall the small gaskets fitting them onto that outlet valve part that the hose connects to to make a tight, firm attachment! I'lll try to re-write this, been busy. But that's what I mean by start small, in my case, it appears to a broken clip I didn't replace AND the gaskets, THREE OF THEM, that are rings that go onto that outlet valve coming out of the left side of the HPFP. Then if all that doesn't work, THEN you repalce the HPFP, and if you still have problems onto the to the larger parts like fuel injector line, and so on down the path. Hope that helps! Let me know, please what your problem is and if you resolved it! Them tiny parts are absolutely needed for a tight fuel vacuum seal!

I’m having the same error code pop up but it went away, it’s still acting weird though, everytime I put gas it’ll get worse where it shuts off if I’m just like sitting in a parking lot with the car on, also if I have the air conditioner on it’ll do it worse but if I turn the air off it’s not as bad. Having the same issue. Replaced the HPFP and still the same problem. Fuel pressure is fine. After driving I have to wait a few hours for it to cool down before I can drive it again without it stalling. No recalls on the vehicle. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Im also having the same P0087 Fuel Rail Pressure Low problem now but Im wondering if there is a certain way to know whether the fault lies with the HP fuel pump or any Fuel Sensors? My symptoms are pretty much like yours, the long crank then revved up without pressing gas peddle before idling back under 1 & lack of power etc. I also have huge variances between the Desired & Actual Pressure readings. My guess is having huge variances in pressure readings tells me is a faulty HPFP and not the sensors right? Hope you or anyone else can help. Thanks

I just had this code come up yesterday, my gas level was similar to yours. Between the low quarter mark and empty. I first thought it was fuel related, like a deformed gas tank from the canister purge valve recall, but I thought it was supposed to throw a specific code for it. Anyways, after tanking it up the issue went away. So I'm not sure if it is the fuel tank or maybe the issue you described here. But maybe after letting it cool down it was fine? What do you think?

@Rattrap 73 Does it have the P0087 code? The only difference between mine and yours I think is that mine would crank, it just wouldn't start until eventually I got the code to come up. What I discovered was that if I let the car cool down for an hour, then I could restart and run it just fine. However, I was able to get it to happen again on a full tank of gas. So I realized it wasn't gas tank related. It was more temperature related, letting the car idle too long and get hot. This low pressure fuel sensor seemed to be the problem for mine. It's like it thinks it has too much pressure so it tells the fuel pump to stop sending fuel. From what I read the newer sensor had a hole drilled in it to let internal heat or pressure balance out so that it doesn't fail like that. Part Number CM-5250 (BU5Z-9F972-CA). The original older sensor ended in "BA" instead of "CA". The "CA" has the hole drilled in. I changed out my sensor, and let the car idle for a while and it didn't happen again.

I should have an OBD2 scanner tomorrow and hopefully it gives me a better idea of what is exactly going on. I can hear the tank fuel pump humming when I turn on the key so I'm beginning to think it's not that anymore and it might be the high pressure pump under the hood along with something else.

@outwestjake I just checked mine and got P0882, P2872, and P287A all either having to do with the tcm. The first code says the tcm isn't getting the proper voltage or something like that and the other 2 are transmission clutch stuck or not able to go into reverse. Ford needs to make this right for everyone that has these models. I'm definitely calling my dealership Monday morning and if they don't wanna do anything I'll call Ford or an attorney. This is our only vehicle and I'm not gonna pay for something that is broken. I still have 12 payments left but I'm not sure if I can keep dumping money into this car.

It doesn’t fit in even I try to push it hard it can go but still have a big gap , it the max it can go in first of all I though because the spring is too long then I test out by removing the camshaft follower out even spin the camshaft to the flat side but it the same , maybe it work by sand the new one with a roll of sand paper , but I already return my fuel pump . I think I’m gonna assembly the fuel pump and clean it with the break cleaner like the one KZbinr that upgrade video by assembly it and clean it with the break cleaner , but don’t clean it with the carburetor cleaner because carburetor cleaner will make the o ring hardener bad for the o ring , that what the KZbinr said , I see on the the video he use the long 18 socket over the spring and remove it come out look like easily, but I don’t know all the model of different cars are the same way. And I heard Fords company warranty for 10 years right if ! your Fords got high pressure pump fail and the camshaft follower fail or damage , we can call Ford’s ask them , Fords company will send us a new engine , but I’m not sure 10 year warranty is how many thousand miles. Ok good luck to all of you out there , fix the problem. That not fear man why we cannot buy the good good car parts for our car but only the people who have the auto shop some where they don’t sell it for us because we don’t pay business tax they only do whole sale and only for the people that open auto mechanic shop . Can this pump create an intermittent ticking noise? I just picked up a manual 2014 with a frequent ticking noise from the area of this pump. Car has a bit of rough idle, is a bit lurchie at low rpms, also had to drive home in limp mode the other day and not sure why. No error codes or ck engine lights. @@31144 yeah, it still revs. Still drive it most everyday. Still has the previously described issue though. A bit more research suggests it could also be the cam follower under the HPFP. I think a diagnostic at the dealer will be in order soon.

Got a similar problem with a 14 plate 1.0 Ecoboost Fiesta, it wont rev above 2000 rpm and cranks for a while before starting, it came in with a burst head gasket (repaired) now it won't run properly, HP fuel pump is ticking its tits off and it's error coding P0087 but not engine management light, is it worth throwing a new HP pump at it ? Its only done 40K though 🤔

I have the same problem on my 2014 MKZ. Code P0087. Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low. Stalls at low speeds and sometimes while idling. It’ll go days without stalling and then stall several times one day, then back to not stalling. It’s frustrating. I replaced the fuel rail sensor but it’s still stalling and idling rough. I don’t know if it’s a clogged fuel filter, or bad pump. Let me know if you solve the problem 👍🏼

2 things. What OBD2 scanner is that? How hard is it to replace the fuel filter? And I bought my 2012 Focus in July and didn't drive it much. After 100 miles it started to struggle. Now I'm driving 150 miles a day and 6k miles later and 2 trips to the dealer, I can't drive it still. They replaced the Fuel Sensor then said it's the battery and other stuff not covered by the warranty. It can't get up hills or get up to speed onto the highway very well. Same P0087 code. How much of a pain is the fuel filter to replace? Figured I'd do that first, then the HPFP then the pump in the tank. Then it should all be new for a while with no problems. As long as one of those fixes the issue. If only the dealer would have just did that when I asked, since that's all covered.....

Check fuses. It could be your fuel pump in the tank that is bad
