You said that right! When thing's go together really easy, there's definitely something wrong lol... I've learned that and if you don't have at least 2 or 3 bolts leftover after you're done, something is wrong. Lol...

I'm pulling the transmission on a 2014 fusion hybrid titanium. Any advice?
@whatsnextgarage2 жыл бұрын
Pull the oil pan to access the flex plate bolts. Support the engine from the top with a transverse engine support. Should be good to go from there. Good luck and keep us posted how it goes for you!! Have a great upcoming holiday season

What I want to know is if it’s a sealed transmission I’m getting code P0 772 for shift solenoid stuck open. I’m wondering if I can replace the solenoid. If I have to replace the whole transmission it’s not slipping. It just doesn’t wanna go out of first gear sometimes.
@whatsnextgarage Жыл бұрын
I am not sure I am not that familiar with those transmissions
@carllemke4622 Жыл бұрын
@@whatsnextgarage thank you so much I don’t really know them very well either. I just know it’s a 2.5 L engine non-turbo six speed automatic I believe it’s my first time ever dealing with this car. It’s a beautiful car but a headache nonetheless

Is there a way to install an inline serviceable transmission filter somewhere that you could easily replace the auxiliary inline transmission filter?
@whatsnextgarage2 жыл бұрын
I imagine you could cut into the return or supply line to the radiator and install something.

you can get the converter nuts out through the starter hole, its pretty tricky though takes a lot of concentration

Where did you have the rear hook hooked to the engine at? I can’t find anywhere to hook it to support the engine to undo the transmission mount

@@redihoxha2940 sounds like there must be internal damage. If you’ve done the oil already the little residual that doesn’t drain won’t make that much difference. Sounds like it may be a bad transmission.

Was it actually slipping or did it just have the standard 6F35 issues? 2-3 shift delay, 1-2 premature shift, etc. there’s no fix for those issues it’s just a design flaw.
@whatsnextgarage3 жыл бұрын
This one was slipping pretty good. It was also making grinding noises. I never tore the trans apart I just sent the core back. However after that Fusion, I had a couple more since and they actually had the issues you explained. Both of those customers took them to the dealer to diagnose because I wasn’t that familiar with why those transmissions were slipping. I guess that’s the new way of building cars, seal everything up and don’t let anyone but dealers service them🤷♂️
@markbronson67243 жыл бұрын
Instead of removing the starter, why not just turn the engine over via the crank shaft from the front with a socket and big enough 1/2 inch breaker bar? And just hit it one at a time from the under side where you removed the oil pan?
@whatsnextgarage3 жыл бұрын
I was still under the old thought that the starter has to come off to get the flex plate bolts off. definitely will turn the crank over on the next one that comes through
@whatsnextgarage3 жыл бұрын
The starter is held on with bolts that also hold the transmission. I forgot that’s why the starter has to come out. 👍👍
