After just under a year of ownership, we are saying goodbye to a great beginner bike for anyone, the Honda CTX 700 ND. It was a fun bike to have around, and we hope its new owner enjoys it!

I just bought a 2016 CTX700 3 days ago. It's my very first bike ever and has a little over 4,000 miles on it. I love this bike and hope to have lots of fun adventures with it!! :-)

Call me crazy, but I'm considering getting rid of a fairly new Vulcan S for a 2015 version of the CTX DCT. Love the idea of not shifting.

I just put a deposit on a 2014 CTX700N with only 119 miles on it. It's not even broken in yet. Can't wait to pick it up on Monday. I'll be doing a review on it as well.

These CTX bikes are not only good at city driving but are very good cruising. I personally am not handicapped by the 200 mile range as I stop every 100 miles anyway to stretch. I do the same in a car. With a low center of gravity it handles very well. BTW, the floorboards make it much more comfortable. I started riding in the 1960s and the power level is about the same as the British classics of that era.

I love the engines in the 700 series Hondas. I have a Honda NC700X with manual transmission & it spins about 4,000 rpm at 80 mph because the torque is down low instead of 10,000 + rpm. Doesn't feel like it's working hard until after 85 but I hear these do 110-115, I wouldn't know. I may be trading for a CTX700 because I upgraded the seat & it's comfortable now but too tall. Tired of being on my toes & I don't want to drop it. Not sure how I would like forward foot pegs, will see.

Are any of you guys using a larger rear sprocket for better low speed performance? Lower gearing usually results in more shifting, but it's not an issue with a DCT : ) Does anyone have a part number suggestion for floorboard style replacement pegs for the front? Thanks Guys!

Haha 2:22 when you ready move up in to a 650cc ?or 700cc? Well this Honda ctx is a 700cc in case you didn’t know. Moving to a 650cc is moving down Not up

Thx for the vid I'm late here. Maybe can knock the dust off your memory. Can you tell me what model the Puig Windscreen is. Also how did you like it at high speeds and finally how tall are you. I have this bike and need to get a wind screen. TY so much!

Unfortunately I don't remember which model the windshield was. I don't remember it being fantastic though. I think you can probably find a better windscreen out there. But for some general coverage it was helpful. Good luck!

I am deciding on a second bike at this point. I previously had a Rebel 250cc. I am looking at the CTX 700 dct and the Rebel 1100 DCT as I really want a bike that has automatic transmission for those early morning commutes where I am tired and need to focus on safety and not shifting. I am leaning towards the 1100 Rebel because it is more stylish. Is there any reason you would recommend the 700 CTX DCT over the Rebel 1100 DCT?

Just cost, essentially. Rebel 1100 will be a better bike in just about every other way. But a used CTX would be so much cheaper.

In the same line… the Rebel 1100 has more features like driving modes and it’s way more powerful. However, we are talking about at least $10k used. I see CTXs in the $3,500 to $5,000 price all the time. It all depends on what’s your budget.

well it does not work this way, ninja 650 is... 650cc, ninja 636 is smaller capacity but f.#$ me if that's a step down

Can somebody tell when this bike hits the sixth gear in sport mode?

Depends on how hard you are on the throttle.

@@DailyMotor I have already been testdriving this model but due to weather condition and short testride I just hit 90 km/h and it was still fifth gear in sport mode. Want just to know when it hits six gear in sport mode. Above 100 km/h?
