This guy obviously is getting a little cash from the Competition my little CX-9 touring gets me anywhere I want to go.It's comfortable and fun to drive allows me to tow a fish boat and have a great retirement alternative Fish one weekend. Tow my Bike trailer to a friends in Calgary and go Sledding in the Winter. It's a great Car like a Swiss army knife and does everything very well. I mean guys really the gas mileage with 273 horse AWD is a concern, let's get real here. I'm Retired not dead.

Hi Billy. The infotainment system in the Mazda3 is different from any Mazda I have driven and is simply fantastic. It is so much for more modern looking and easy to use that anything else seems antiquated. (even the system in the 6) Alex

3rd row seat is just fine. Please do a proper review.

Have to agree, Alex. Really liked the CX9 when I was in the market for a CUV last year. But at nearly 200" it simply wouldn't fit in my garage with a bike rack on the rear end and the KIA Sorento trumped it in most categories in a more manageable size. I like Mazdas a lot and hope they preserve some of the good points when they replace this version next year.

Also lose the roof slop to get some headroom in the 3rd row. I'd de-offer the 20's and go with 18" as the max tire size. Plus everything Alex said as well.

Alex -- if one wants a 3-row crossover with more 3rd row room, I recommend one of the GM crossovers (Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, or Buick Enclave).

this model has been refreshed twice since it came out in 2007. a 6 years old model is showing its age, very impressive though.

Alex -- why not the infotainment system on the Mazda6 or CX-5 for the CX-9?

Never buy Mazda if you are looking for ride comfort. I have a CX 9 since a year and had the 3 too. Mazda isn't for ride comfort. It is for enjoyment on the road. You can get the Chevy traverse but you will definitely miss the CX 9s sportiness. So unless you want fun, get the CX 9. My dad didn't buy the land cruiser, etc because he likes to have fun on the road. So he loves mazda more than any car company, just because it is sporty and can handle 7 passengers anytime. The ride comfort is bad for people who just want a car for comfort, but it isn't that bad.

You are so right I have a cx9 too and for its size this thing hauls . The CX 9 has a sporty soul which I love and so far a bullet proof reliability

Mazda is not toyota. they don't make car that you can't feel the road. if you want comfortable and carry 7 or 8 people, get a minivan. you feel like you are on a boat. cx-9 is a 7 seater SUV, but can drive like the 5 seater smalle SUV.

Imagine listening to this guy whine homesteading in a covered wagon across the country. "These wagon wheels are simply unbearable!"
