Got one of these 6 months ago (had a ‘98 SLK and loved it and literally drove it into the ground) but this 2014 was my dream car. Never thought I’d be able to pick it up so soon but, such is life, and man.... I love it.

i was thinking about buying a 2015 slk250 with about 30-40k miles, do you it'll still have a good longevity

@@sebastianbelalcazar4889 Well mines is a 2014 which I bought with approx. 40,000 miles and it’s wow. It’s got a couple of small issues (cosmetic) but insofar as the mechanical systems go.... solid. Idk if they’re all made in Germany (the SLKs) but mines was and I think that helps

I completely admit that car is beautiful, almost jewel-like. However as someone who works on their own car I am afraid of the R172. I bought my 2nd R171 this year. An SLK55 AMG with only 21K-miles on it. I have a lot of experience with 2000s-era Mercedes. I know the good ones & the ones to avoid. The R171 is the last SLK (AMG) which is still simple enough for someone like me to do all my own maintenance on. Its M113 engine is one of the best (power AND reliability) Mercedes ever made. The R172 AMG with the new M152 engine is so complicated (direct injection, start/stop system, cylinder deactivation, generator management) you'd need to buy diagnostic equipment that's not even close to being affordable.

Hey Bill! Great job with the videos. Let me help you out with that remote smart key on the roadster.....I have one myself. So you don't like the windows up after the top comes down? simply "hit and hold" again on the smart key fob. Problem solved! ……...And leave the damn ducks alone! Take care, D. Scott

Oh! And one more thing sir....You do not have the AMG package there. If it WAS the case, you would be dealing with a V8 for starters, packing 355+ horsepower and that one part near the end of the video when you accelerated thru the sleeping neighborhood?....The AMG would have thrown you into the back seat!
