I own a 2011 ranger xp and I can tell you we have hauled and towed even more than what the capacity ratings are without any issues. I tell you what the past weekend the boys and I went up north in Michigan and rode the trail systems near Cheboygan. my buddies have Kawasaki Brute Force 750i and a Kawasaki Prairie 400 quads and I have Yamaha Grizzly 700 fi. all the Kawasaki's continuously kept shutting off in wet conditions, deep mudding and in deep puddles. my buddies 2015 Brute Force even shut off at a stop sign in dry conditions. my 2015 Yamaha Grizzly 700 fi didn't have a single prop and never has. I can switch from 4 by 4 to 2 wheel drive while driving both my buddies both have to stop. Yamaha is the only one on the market that has a marine-grade wiring harness. they might not be the fastest or have the biggest Motors in industry but they are the best all-around machine. because of all the above I'm looking at buying the Viking 6
@samueltamas948210 жыл бұрын
The Polaris belts break constantly. Go to Glamis and ask any RZR owner. Then ask a Rhino owner, yes, way different machines but add some mods and a nice suspension system and your good to go and reliable plus even with mods got lots $ left.

Had a polaris ranger kept it a little over a year and sold it. Belts were already giving trouble. Hard to start in cold weather. Noisy engine, clunky , buck jumping going down hill. Never abused only light farm use. Traded it for a Honda pioneer had it six years now. Not as much speed but quieter, more agile. But will prolly try something different next time cause having engine trouble already with it and only 600hrs on it.

k jones I see the problem.. Several on here have no idea of what they are reading. While the video is obviously biased, lets not get ridiculous....They tested each machine with the mfg CLAIMED hauling capacities..Polaris CLAIMS to be able to haul 1000 lbs. Yamaha CLAIMS to be able to haul 600 lbs. Why do you feel the need to overload the Viking with more than claimed. They just tested each at mfg claimed capacities and shows that maybe Polaris ought to put a more realistic capacity for the Ranger....

Ignorance is bliss as they say - The Viking is nothing like the Rhino, not even remotely. The only thing you can say is some what similar is a 686 cc motor but even then the HP difference is pretty substantial. The Viking motor is not right next to the passengers anymore either, it's not hot and loud like the Rhino in the cockpit.

FU Yamaha you will never be better than Polaris". I don't know about you, but I think there should be some sort of IQ test that should be given before allowing comments to be posted. Both machines are quality machines but I really think some of the Po Po boys are angry that they overpaid for a machine that is not that superior to other available machines....

@VitalYFZ9 жыл бұрын
Yeah and you're also wrenching on those turds every time you ride. Everyone with a RZR breaks something almost every trip. They use crappy parts and they're built in Mexico. Polaris has serious quality control issues and they use weak metal and parts. You can never compare anything Polaris makes to the Japanese manufacturers who take pride in their product. Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha are as tough as they come with Yamaha being the best and most innovative, always pushing the envelope. When Yamaha debuts their sport side x side, Polaris owners will leave in droves. Just like the Viking stomps all over the Ranger, the Yamaha sport UTV will stomp all over the RZR when it's released. Everyone knows it's coming and it will probably be debuted this June.
@kylefitzgerald44199 жыл бұрын
VitalYFZ You got it wrong my friend! I have not ever broken a stock part on my rzr. I mean I changed most of it out but still most stock parts. And the Viking is shit still. The 700 is powerless and does not have that much torque like a side by side should have. Yeah the 700 grizzly has great torque being it`s smaller and all that but putting that motor in a utv? Not my slice of cake. Yeah Honda`s are great but Kawaski is just another peace of crap that I don`t like. I have had one of there quads and utvs, never liked them what`s so ever. Polaris is made in Japan just so you now. Maybe there factory`s are down in Mexico but their design,engine`s, etc are all from Japan.
@VitalYFZ9 жыл бұрын
Kyle Fitzgerald Well you are the luckiest RZR owner I know. I have been riding side x sides since 2006 and every friend of mine with a RZR has issues.

Kyle Fitzgerald The word is out, Save the Date, Yamaha will be debuting a new side x side in a new category 1-20-2015. Let's see if it's finally a sport model so those of us holding out and refusing to buy a RZR can finally get a new ride.
@kylefitzgerald44199 жыл бұрын
VitalYFZ I never really said Yamaha is bad. I have a 2012 yamaha kodiak 450 eps se. Best bike I have owned. I was just pointing out the rhino has been out for what 10+ years and the viking only two and they are both still the same just one tow`s more. I will buy a side by side when Yamaha can release a sport racer that can compete with polaris,can am, and arctic cat. But until when ever your saying the release date is I will be riding in my rzr.

I have driven and had rangers for a long time. they are good, yes.but how ever from all my research and questioning I have come up with that the Viking is better. sorry Polaris. the thing is... I would use the Viking way more than the ranger if I had one. because the Viking is better for going in fields, it can be used more for sport and work. its kinda like a ranger and rzr at once in my opinion. its more comfy too, and youre atleast down in the machine! lol. I like the door idea so mud and water and shit doesn't get on the floor of the machine and stuff as easy, or, atleast its better than a net!!! the Viking is better for touring and family reunions. but I will give the ranger that it is better for rock picking... but I trust Yamaha WAY MORE because of build and better engine. Yamaha is best in all that. I know because of my all my grizzlys, vs all the other atvs ever!!! that is how live bitches! you don't like it, that's your problem! im all for Yamaha! and Yamaha makes the best dirtbikes, ATVs, motorcycles, and sometimes snowmobiles. all that is for sure.
