Just installed it and I'm excited to say I'm completely amazed at what this tune can do! The shifts are faster and smoother, and the sound, oh the sound it gives my car and even deeper tone. It's just amazing I love it!

Just had my 2017 GT ( Australian Spec ) Mustang get induction, HP tune and 3 inch full exhaust and my power and torque curves are so much smoother than any I have seen on any of these tuner videos. I mean smooth, no lumps or bumps!

Higher octane such as 93 vs 91 will add possibly 4-6 hp. Not really worth the higher octane. Plus, there's about that much of a power loss, due to the fact that they dynos open hood. These kits are dynod by Ford with a proper closed hood.

Thank you for the video. It helped a ton for my install over this weekend. I'm super happy on the results (butt dyno), but I have no idea about the actual gains yet since I have not put my car on a dyno just yet. However, there is minor pinging on 3rd/4th gear if I accelerate somewhat hard (60%-70% throttle) at 4000 rpm range. I'll just let the computer relearn a bit and see if this disappears after some time. I know I can use the ProCal to set the Octane Adjust to "Y,: but I hear that reduces any power gains.

Literally ordered from LMR they had the best price, scheduled Ford installation, charged 2hrs labor at 130.00hr, maintain factory warranty. Suggestion prior to going to ford create a Ford racing login and password, write it down on the programing sheet for the tech, he was very appreciative of me taking that extra step. I am not kidding this is the best upgrade you can do to your coyote! I literally have 320 miles on my car and this is one of the few first upgrades, next week 4.09 gears Steeda is installing. this is my 3rd mustang 2001,2011 and my new 2017 cant stand the new lexus front bumper and fog lights and ford Taurus hood, that's another discussion entirely lol you guys want the HP for a god awful looking Lexus / Taurus hybrid help yourself ill pass. back to the topic at hand, I immediately heard the difference in the exhaust note and burping/popping which sounds great, I have strait pipe from the cats back. The performance and overall throttle response and feel of the car is remarkable its literally like driving a different car! I have zero regret or hesitation about recommending this upgrade to anyone. Also the Procal tool will auto correct my new gears next week which is nice! little tip if you lose your procal tool from what I was told your SOL and in deep water this thing gets locked and registered to your motor once programmed. I am so happy with this upgrade words cant even express, LMR shipped it perfectly the box was in flawless condition and the packaging was exceptional! the box will not no matter how you swing it fit into your car to take it anywhere just another FYI unless you want to scratch your interior. its huge.Im not racing my car, I simply wanted my car tuned to higher quality fuel since I only put 93 octane and why not have a better intake and remove all that nonsense cluttering the engine compartment, ie - sound tube etc. under the hood it looks pretty only thing I'm definitely doing is upgrading to an air raid gt350 blue filter just cuase it seems a lot higher quality I'm not a fan of paper filters in general period.

Just bought a new Mustang , love it . Have a 03 Fire Red 03 Mustang GT 5 speed , 5,500 miles , "NEVER" raced been in rain or snow , just like new , sell or trade for Ford truck .. 71 year young Mustang lover !!!!

Just installed this kit from LMR today. Only took about 2 hours to install the hardware and about 30 minutes to tune with the procal. The clearance between the larger throttle body and all the vacuum lines/wire harnesses in that area is very tight. I also have the ford performance oil separator and it is tight as well. It contacts the throttle body wire connection. None of it looks like it will be an issue just a slight pain when installing. The kit looks great and I just got back from the first drive and the difference is amazing. I have had CAIs with BAMA tunes on my last two 5.0's and this is so much better. It feels like I'm in a GT350. I'm impressed. Best $700 bucks spent yet. I will answer any questions about my install experience if anyone has any questions before they buy. Just still can't get over it. :)

Matthew Hulst I just bought this from LMR and got it Friday. Can you elaborate on cutting the gt350 rubber seal and the tline? they go by so fast.

KidMagic there is a pretty good picture I the installation instructions for the cuts on the intake duct just cut it exactly like that picture. The cuts are about 2 inches apart. For the vacuum T, I took the line from the passenger side I cut a small slit inline with the vacuum line so that I could pull out the quick connect the cut a flush edge. I attached that end to the t-line and folded it over the throttle body to meet the drivers side line and marked where the met and cut. I then put the upstream side of that drivers side line into one side of the t and the downstream side with the quick connect on the other side of the t. There is also a pretty good closeup pic of that in the install guide. I didn't worry to much about being exact just took my time. Especially when it came to cutting the vacuum lines.

Matthew Hulst oh nice. I haven't open the box yet lol. I installed the Trufiber spoiler first since they both were delivered together. How's the throttle response? Is there too much rev hang?

KidMagic the throttle response is great, the rev hang I noticed when the car is warming up or under some limited conditions it's bad. The RPMs actually go up a little when I hit the clutch. So it makes driving jerky if you don't slow your shifts down. This is only the case for a short period of time though. Once the car is at normal temperature the rev hang is the same or a little better than stock. It's like that so the kit can meet emissions requirements.

I just purchased this PP2, its nasty, I love it... car ran a 12.9 at 117 mph 2.5 60 foot... with street tires on the track aps....6 speed....pops out the back and nasty rumble from the aircleaner... It wants octane big time though...

@@AH23794 yes it did in fact advance is so much timing you have to run a little octane booster constantly and I now have a lifter tick so it's soon to be gone

I installed stage 2 power pack at GTR in Ontario, Ca. Pls believe me! Everyone who owns 15 16 17 mustang must do this! the car's character changed so drastically I couldn't believe it at first. mine is 6 speed manual, and the car's character at 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear changed nicely with ample and easy power. it is truly worth the cost. pls do this!

Landan, besides the adaptor plate is anything else needed to install the GT350 throttle body? How tight are the connections using the 87mm TB?

That no lift shift is what I have heard causes the forks breaking in the tranny.

Has anyone done a before/after quarter mile or 0-60? Also, it seems the open air box design makes dyno testing (with the hood open) somewhat disconnected from real world results. Basically, and hard data to show this makes a noticable difference in anything besides "throttle response", especially for a manual?

I've been thinking about going with this kit. I'm not trying to mess my car up though. I get nervous about messing with the ECU and cutting stock lines for a T they never really explain why and what it's for? I'll try and find a Ford Dealer to do this if I can.. What's easy to other PPL is Nerve racking to other's.. I don't trust myself to not drop a bolt and lose it or mess something up.. plus I am the second owner, I bought my 2017 8 months ago with 8,909 miles and from day one I have been able to rev out to 7500 RPM if I want.. I don't I usually short shift but if I am pushing the car I will shift at 7200rpm. I hear about other people getting power lose or lock out at about 7000 rpm but I don't which is causing me to think it may have already been tuned? Unless a 17 manual performance pack can be rev'ed passed 7200rpm stock? I've had it 8 months now and it's a weekend car so I am still learning about it??

Just make sure when program says “remove module power” you turn off the car and then wait for the program to say “apply module power” power the car back on then wait for the program to say “Program successfully installed” in green. You can remove everything at that point and start the car. Yeah there’s no instructions for that and I jacked that up the first time. The program takes about 10 mins to install

They upped the rev limiter with this tune to approx 7200. Stage 3 will have peak power around 7500 rpm so you can expect the tune to have approx 7800rpm. 8250 rpm GT350 rev limit is not that far away...

For an extra $4400 you can get the gt350 heads and hit pretty close to that rev limit.

Yup - heads will provide solid gains. I just got myself GT350 mani/TB combo and Lund tune with 7700 rpm limit. Note that S550 has practically a Boss 302 motor which was set to 7500rpm limit from factory. Coyote can spin over 8000 rpm with NP but you better change the oil pump gears and chain sprocket if you want to rev that high safely.

vmeansvelocity for 4,000 you can get full kooks system with 1-7/8 headers. cobra jet intake, JLT 110mm coldair and Breenspeed tune. 520hp with 8000 rpm rev.

Has anyone tried this stage 2 power pack without the calibration? Doesn't the pro-cal tool basically "re-tune" it like any other regular handheld tuner, because I don't see the big difference between running an aftermarket cold air intake & larger BBK 85-90mm throttlebody with no tune required vs this package. Someone please elaborate as to why the procal tool is REQUIRED for the stage 2 power pack. I understand it will help add more power but my question is, can you run the power pack 2 safely without the calibration! Thanks.

Grouchy 5.0 - While the tune may not be required, the engineers at Ford purposely wrote the tune file to coincide with the larger throttle body and cold air intake. This helps achieve max power and driveability. -Landan

Can someone tell me what model filter comes with this kit? My son has this kit in a used 2016 Mustang he bought and we know nothing about it. It has a pre filter on it I would like to replace with a new one but I don’t know what to buy for an exact fit. I’m afraid of water leaking from that hood air vent almost directly above this cold air kit and it looks like a pre filter helps prevent water from getting into the cone shaped filter itself. Wasn’t expecting this in a used car . I never even heard of a cold air filter before! Thanks for any help.

The cold air intake in this particular kit is the same one on a 2016-2020 GT350. Any replacement filter or prefilter for that year range and application will work. -Landan

Hi landon. I was going to buy this and I talked to my dealer about install. They said they would do it but wouldnt honor my warranty anymore :( WTF? should I just go to another dealer or what do you suggest. I'm very disappointed with them telling me this. I was stoked for this Power pack. Now im too scared to get one.

Yes. A dealer must instal this. If you do it yourself, the dealer will know it and if a warranty issue comes up, you would be denied. The dealer logs that it installed the kit. That's how you get covered. That includes the dealer sending your vin to Ford for the Procal tool.

William - The Pro Cal tool will only work with the Ford Performance power packs. Any other modifications to the vehicle will require a custom tune and tuner. This means the Pro Cal tool and calibration will no longer be used. Hope this helps! Thanks. -Landan

We don't recommend running just the GT350 cold air intake with a stock GT throttle body. The inlet tube on the GT350 cold air intake is larger than the GT's and doesn't form a complete seal even with the hose clamp tight. It is in your best interest to either run this stage 2 power pack or purchase this (lmr.com/item/M9603M50/15-17-mustang-ford-performance-cai-throttle-body-m-9603-m50) and opt for a custom tune. -Landan

The Pro Cal tool links the software to the vehicle's PCM. The tune is a separate entity downloaded from the Ford Performance website. -Landan

Interesting.. Would this be enough beat a stock Camaro SS? I have a lund flex tune, CAI and exhaust on my 14 5.0.. Still lost by a car and 1/2 to a stock gaymaro :/

Rrd T lol! Those new camaros are fast!!! They killed Chevy in the performance dept. in my opinion, they look ugly. Which is why I can't get one. Im waiting to trade in my 2012 mustang gt for a 2018. Hoping it gained some power and lost some weight. I think magnetic ride suspension will be an option.

exhaust as in long tubes? or only catback? for me im going intake tune, x pipe, and weight savings (carbon fiber drive shaft, baer eradispeed rotors, new battery, rear seat delete) and new suspention bushing and lowering springs then calling it quits. my 2012 was roush charged, even tho im a HP junkie im going all motor this time for something new

How do I return this to stock. I bought the car and it already had this but I'm trying to do a custom tune with brensoeed on my sct. I have the procal tool and everything still. Do I just plug it in while plugged into car and laptop or is there software I need to install. Any help thc

It's been awhile since I've returned one of these cars to stock with the ProCal software. Plug it in and connect it to the car. Somewhere within the software should be a "Return To Stock" (or something along the lines of that) option. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reflash. -Landan

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking..? The adapter is included to bolt the GT350 throttle body to the GT intake manifold. -Landan

dude wheres my car you also need an adapter to run it on the stock throttle body as well, but from what I've heard, its actually better to keep the stock tb versus the gt350

I think you might be able to get a better price at either Levittown Ford or Ford Performance. There was a pre-buy on Mustang 6G a while back.

Coleman a what kind of problems have you had if any I’ve been worried about rain getting in from the hood vents and getting onto the filter. I have the Ford performance By Borla touring catback next is FRPP 2 then ford street springs

i have roush cold air intake on my 2017 mustang gt... would the gt350 alone fit the roush intake?

Are you referring to the GT350 throttle body? If so, it's going to be a tight fit since the opening is 7mm wider. I can't say it will work nor can I say it will. -Landan

It will fit, I have a 90mm BBK TB on my 2015, it's snug but it will fit.

No prob man, I went with the Roush CAI myself as well. I liked the build quality much better. I made 460/405 with long tubes on 93 lund tune.

GERMAN ZAPATA 5th gear is 1:1, so the actual power it's making at the wheels.

Hey LMR, if your going to do a PROPER Dyno, close the hood. You don't drive with it wide open do you? Why dyno that way. You need to seal that air intake

435 to the crank stock. 395 to the wheels before the power pack. 421 to the wheels after the power pack.

I think to retain warranty one must pay a ford tech to install. Too bad.

Really? you cant take a care with a full catback already and compare it to a car with those added stage 2 parts and assume its going to act stock. Just adding a tune to a high displacement engine and a bigger exhaust will pump up you power noticeably. Next time use an actual stock car and then just the stage 2 and THEN the stage 2 plus catback. Much more helpful to consumers.

That is a flywheel rated number. On a chassis dyno, power and torque numbers are lower because of drivetrain loss. This same Mustang in stock form made 375HP/358TQ on our chassis dyno. no offense but i dont buy into this hype. AT ALL. If you want a tune and CAI and want to make power, Lund or VMP or AED. other than that its a waste of money.

the thing is getting bad reviews on the forums. bad throttle mapping. FRPP did the goddamn same with their lst performance pack on the 2011-2014 GT. The tune was pinging on every car it was installed

Its been fixed. I was looking into getting the stage 3 but read the same issues, but its been fixed with the new updates.

ARXDMOS I read it on the s550 forum on facebook. Several members were discussing the pros/cons and several said that the issue of the throttle body and pinging, where fixed in the updated tunes.
