I put this on my 2017 gt pp1 and not only is there a difference in power but, the engine sounds better because of the open intake.

Idk if you guys still respond but mine is a 2017 mustang GT and the stock passenger side cold air intake vacuum hose doesn’t fit on it because of the way it’s angled. I can’t find any places that sell these.

Okay as funny as this sounds a buddy of mine have me the intake, and Throttle body for free but I don’t have the Calibration Tool. I literally cannot find anywhere that I can just buy the tool. Can someone please help?

Bill Lovest call the ford 1800 number for the ProCal tool and they have a chart and give it too you, they pickup instantly and are happy to help

Any experience with the no lift shift? How safe is it?

sirnate54 Ive had it for a year now, driven about 8k miles on it including a track day. I like it, allows for lighting quick but very safe shifts. It’s never let my engine over rev while using it. It can be a little tricky to use on a hard 1-2 shift especially if your already spinning through 1st. Basically I’ve gotten to where I really only use it 2-5th. On the track I was 3-4 all day and used it for every 3-4 upshift without issue.

How do you avoid sucking in water when it rains with it being right below the vent? Do they possibly make a cover for it?

I have the JLT Intake, same open style with the Roush hood vents and I have no issues with water. I like the sound that these open intakes make.

sirnate54 I agree, but the thing is I live in Florida and we get quite a bit of rain, and it gets quite heavy. I just don't understand how I wouldn't be sucking water in

The heat extractor vents are tiny, not much water passes through them. However you could purchase a filter pre-shield to keep water off your exposed filter element. www.americanmuscle.com/prefilter-airaid-cai-2015.html

If you took a garden hose and left it running at the opening it may be an issue, however rain drops or regular weather will not affect your vehicle it’s so minor, not only is it a small amount of water, that water would have to travel a long distance into your engine and through a massively filter filter and large one at that. Also if installed by ford your cars under warranty and that’s their problem not ours. That being said I’ve never had any issue and I live in south Florida, I’ve popped hood after terrestrial rainstorms and the filter has had no water whatsoever on it

@@AlbertoGonzalez-qq2iw No. As long as you got a proper tune with the throttle body the Air Raid is fine since it’s inlet tube is about the same as this.

J Clue if you add a 2018 manifold, this will not benefit you because the tune will not be accommodating to it. To get the benefits out of it, you will need a custom tune from a third party like Lund, PBD, and etc...

You'll need an aftermarket tune and if you want to got E85, you'll need 47lb injectors because of the increased airflow from the 2018 mani. Also a lot of tuners don't like to tune for the GT350 throttle body and they might try to tell you to use the stock TB.

Just got done installing mine. Kinda rushed and kept dropping things into the car (8mm socket and the T-attachment. Throttle body is REALLY snug against one of the radiator hoses and was really hard to squish it on there. However, I finally got it on. (took like 3 hours). Last CAI I did was a BBK on a 4.0 Mustang, and that took 30 mins tops. This one is a LOT more involved to install, but I did it, and boy, it does make a difference. Normal mode feels more like Sport mode, and Track mode is just scary. Throttle response is definitely improved, and with my Roush Catback, it sounds a bit more throaty too. I chose Power Pack 2 over 3 because PP2 has a torque advantage over PP3 (About 25ft/lbs) and seems to provide the best bang for the buck. It also raises your redline to 7150 RPM, so a tiny bit more top end helps too. My 6R80 seems to shift right around 7K (WOT) now so that number seems accurate. However your install tutorial in this video is very lacking in important info, especially on installing the T-connector. I had to get on the Ford Performance website and take a picture of the hoses for reference. I know maybe time may be an issue but you should be more thorough. This is NOT a cheap purchase, and we're paying a lot of money for this product, so omitting info? Stop that. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, as it definitely woke up my 2016 GT. Will probably get a flex fuel tune next. Going to put on a K&N filter on it soon too, hopefully that will squeeze a couple horses out of the new setup...

All the money to get Header's and Ported intakes with Tunes for that isn't really for me.. I am planning to take what ever money I would have wasted and some more saving to get to the Screws... I want a Super Charger but I want to be as stock as possible up till then.. I am doing a shifter and an H pipe first, then I am going to chill and save for a couple years for a stage 1 to 2 SC... You can actually SC and keep your stock Headers and Cats and still get over 650 wheel while keeping the car legal, thats what i want anyway, I really don't care who is fast or making 800 wheel. I want a super charged car that can be daily'ed safely without worry....

@@sklew That is a very in depth article, yet it conspicuously leaves out any real-world performance testing. Not even a 0-60, much less a 1/4 side by side. I don't care about peak horsepower or what a dyno says, I care about actual acceleration. Odd that no one gives this...maybe it really isn't any different?

@@DJ_Force probably not. In my opinion unless you're going to supercharger, turbocharge, procharge your car for serious noticeably power change I would just leave it stock. Most people get these performance packs and then end up getting more power down the road or even going back to stock because it wasn't that much of a difference lol.

Get a pre-filter they come in cool colors and can help prevent any water damage to the intake filter for like 20$!

Scotty N are you sure? In this case I think it’s related to the fact that there’s a lot more air coming into the engine than it was originally calibrated for (and colder, so also more mass per unit), combustion is richer so timing for valves, fuel mixture amount, etc needs to change. It is my understanding that putting these options and not calibrating it will eventually damage the engine. Also calibrating and then not using the higher required fuel octane.

That's the throttle body fully closing as it is slightly open during idle. A little weird at first but, you get used to it.
