Guys. Fitment is awful. The bracket doesn't fit at all. Also, the stock bov housing doesn't sit flush against the port, because the casing is being blocked by the intercooler itself, causing a major boost leak.

Idk how you got that charge pipe to move lol. I actually just finished replacing that charge pipe, the one going to the throttle body. I was cleaning the throttle body and broke off the nipple off the charge pipe for the air line, so I had to replace it. But man is it a pain to connect that pipe on both sides.

Warrior Monk intercoolers don’t add horsepower, they keep components cooler so less wear and tear overtime or power drop off from components getting hot. Its extremely beneficial when you add extra horsepower, like a tuner anything that’s going to make the engine work harder.

It was just a shroud for the old unit. Not needed for the new one. Yes you will need the additional space.

I'd highly recommend checking fitment directly with Mishimoto. As far as us here at AT are concerned, this intercooler is only for 2015-2020 F150 Ecoboost Trucks. -Zach

@@steveamestoy did your upgraded intercooler help with over heating when towing? I have a '17 3.5 ecobosst that gets hot enough when towing grades with a 8,000 lb. trailer that it puts me in limp mode and then it's 30 mph to the top of whatever hill I'm on. Looking for a fix to this problem. Considering this intercooler or an upgraded radiator or both. Just not sure I want to dump another $2,000 in to this truck today. Any advice would help. Thanks.

@@adamsheppard559 I had the same issue and fixed it by changing the thermostat to a 160 degree thermostat from vmp performance. Under full throttle it would get up to 240 and now it might blip 200 but it goes right back down if under heavy load

Do you plan on doing some dump testing videos to show the differences? Or are they not large enough differences to justify a video? I’d be curious to know. I have a 2011 Ecoboost and had the water issue and actually blew my engine. Sad day... but I rebuilt it and now just working out the little gremlins. I ended up putting the the little weep hole of the cold side but would like to upgrade eventually to a better intercooler but would be curious to know the power gains

An intercooler alone isn't going to add power in the traditional sense, but what it will do is keep the power from dropping off substantially after things get hot. If you ask most reputable tuners they'll say the intercooler upgrade is one of the top mods to tackle on these trucks for that reason alone. -Justin

Just did this upgrade but my truck refuses to build boost, my mechanic thinks I need a tune to use this intercooler but I'm not so sure. I have odd symptoms, I can build boost under light throttle but under full throttle I watch the boost slowly fade as my rpms of the motor rise and the truck definately does not have the power it had before he worked on it. To be completely fair the mechanic worked on one of the heads, did a timing chain, and new water pump. so I'm not sure if there is something else contributing but as far as i can tell everything looks connected and a smoke test didn't show any leaks in the hoses. Has anyone else needed a tune to make this intercooler work? I have stainless works high flow cat exhaust (full system) with a high flow air filter intake and thats about it everything else is stock engine wise.

Hey Mark- to me it sounds like you have a boost leak somewhere. (I know you said you checked but the symptoms are very reminiscent of a small leak) I would double/triple check all hoses and clamps to ensure there is no rips or holes and that everything is snug. Also this intercooler does not require a tune, so that shouldn't have any effect on your current situation. -Justin

I also have the same problem!! I just upgraded my intercooler to the same one in the video and with a new air intake. I also tuned my f150 to higher boost (16psi) to be exact and after the tune I feel like there a massive loss of power. I’m not sure what the reason is, but I’m sure all the clamps and screws are tight though!! If someone can help me that would be awesome!!

Can you use soapy water to find a boost leak? 9 times out 10 is something you've had your hands on that's caused the issue.

5.0 doesn’t have turbos. Intercooler is to cool the turbos
