That's so much easier than getting on installed and having a key with the button on it which is usually 433mhz. Mine has remote start through ford pass but not on my key. My key is a 300 something mhz. So a remote start key of 433mhz won't work. But. I like how this uses your key and learns the key code. Makes it so much easier. Job well done sir.

I can vouch for the product. Had one in my 2016 F-150 for 4 years. No problems. No complaints. Works with existing remote. Works with the computer system (meaning then it will remember the settings as you left them when you use it to start the vehicle).

Seems like it's alot better than a lot of the remote start systems I've seen. Definitely seems more enjoyable than the ones from long ago especially since you'd only have to unplug it if it starts acting up instead of having to fix a bunch of wiring to remove it.

Put one of these systems in my wife’s 17 Fusion three years ago, and it’s been good. Then later on paid for the app module so she can start it from her phone(car is not in remote shot where she works), and she loves that.

Seriously, thank you for doing this video Boss.Factory remote start wont work on wife's van because of a bad torque converter clutch triggering the CEL. will start and only run a few seconds unless I clear the codes before starting. I know most aftermarket ones dont care if the CEL is on so this is probably the way I am going. I already contacted them to ask if it would still work with a CEL on and if so it's going in the cart and under the tree. I have installed other ones that required hacking into the wiring and that is not a route I want to go again..At least not to that extent"Viper with tons of options in my truck" lol Thanks so much for showing me this plug and play system Rich! When I bought my 2014 Fusion 6 years ago , it didn't have remote start. That was something I wanted so I could remote start it in the winter in the mornings and let it warm up. I did a lot of looking around and saw several really expensive options including the most expensive option of going back to the dealer. Then I ran across 12v solutions website. I had never saw a solution like this before as it was packaged in such a way I could install this very easily myself. At the time, they were running a sale and compared to other solutions, it was cheap. I think I paid around $100 total and that included like $10 for shipping. I got it in the mail like 3 days later. I got home from work and saw that it had came and just couldn't wait. It took literally 10 minutes for me to install and get it programmed. It even added the remote start options to the cars menu system. I tested it out, three lock presses on the fob and she fired right up. Another three presses and it shut off. Perfect. I went through the menu of the vehicle and set what I wanted for the runtime and climate control and I was done. Now in the winter, I can start my car and have it warmed up while I get ready for work. It has worked perfectly since it was installed. @Ford Boss Me I didn't have to do anything to have my second key to work with this setup but it is good to see you do this video. Good information, I have installed on my wife’s CX5 a Fortin Evo Remote Start Module, this is a too plug and play and uses the factory keys too without need to send back to program keys, also have auxiliary input for more modules and telematics, so you can use an App to remote start with your phone. Installed the module and works flawlessly. The only downside is that you have to do more steps in programming the module to your car using a computer, but is easy following the instructions on the Fortin website. Take care my friend

Yep. 12volt sol. Really has some good products. I put one on my wife’s old 14 fusion hybrid a few years ago. Was stupid easy. Plugged in behind the obd2 port and that was it. I also added the cellular module so she could start unlock and locate it from her iPhone. That also worked great. Highly recommend.

It seems this behaves like the oem module since you have the the remote start option on the menu. I think the alternative is to get the oem unit, program it and get new keys if I’m correct. This saved you a bit of money in keys alone .

I am not sure on Fords, you may be able to disable horn sound in vehicle preferences/personalisation settings for locking confirmation.

I did a 2014 Ford Fusion w/ their remote starter. 30 seconds is no lie to hook it up and get it program. It takes longer to to make it look neat and clean with wire ties and Velcro the module to final location. Been in service for 3 years and I still get to use my factory fob. I take a little time to get the 3 presses of the lock button to get it to start but once you get it it’s an excellent product. How’s ur truck coming along I’ve missed an update if there is one

@@FordBossMe I did the DeeZee tailgate damper on my ‘18 before I knew that the internals for the Ford unit were already installed behind the tail light. The after market DZ is holding up but will be replaced with OEM once it’s time to replace the lift cartridge. I’ll check out ur recents that I missed. What did they change in 2015? I literally bought a key with the remote start button on it , an antenna to extend the range and enabled remote start on my 2013 F150 with Forscan. No external modules required.

I ordered the OEM version at $30 dollars less from a Ford dealer on EBAY. It also has the added bonus of a perimeter alarm setting. They both install the same way. You can do the Horn Delete using Forscan so the neighbors never here that annoying horn chirp.

I got same setup on my 2010 raptor. If you don't want horn to sound. Hit lock wait 5 sec hit lock wait 5 sec . Hit lock and it will start without beeping horn. Try it Boss

I've had this same product in my 16 f150 xlt for 3 years now. Still going, with one 1 very minor issue- Mine hardly ever starts with only 3 button presses. So I've just trained myself to hit the fob 4 times. But as for the updates messing with it I haven't had any issues. And I've had my truck in the dealership for major repairs (new transmission 6r80) it never affected the remote start

It already has one, and you'll still need the key to drive the vehicle.

Never had a vehicle that had it on it. Starts off, vehicle locked, not running! When you do the three clicks it starts the vehicle does it unlock the doors or is the vehicle still locked? I'm assuming locked, but not sure because of the three clicks and then how long will it run in case you forget or you get sidetracked or something is there a time setting on that, will turn it off? And when you get there do you have to install the key to get in, and out of gear? Sorry for all the stupid questions. Could I leave it running while going to the store real quick somebody breaks into it will it die or can they take it? 🤔🙄🙃🤔☺️. I wouldn’t upgrade to remote start. The key is the best for security. With all this new frequency scanning tech the criminals have been using they will get that frequency to the remote start and drive off with the vehicle. It’s a lot harder if they only got the frequency to unlock the vehicle.
