A comparably equipped Corvette Stingray with the Z51 package and magnetic ride control will cost between $68,000 and $75,000. It is a performance bargain if that is all you require. However the overall fit and finish and available options are better on the Jaguar. You get what you pay for.

@anothny6151 just because you can get financing to lease a car does not mean you can afford to BUY the car. And bmw is a high end sports car well at least the m series which is what i would get you can get a 60-70 thousand dollar bmw or corvette even the f type but for around 70-75 for the jag

As someone that own's more than one vehicle, I don't think you understand how much more expensive it is to own a sports car compared to a 'normal' car. I can afford to lease a BMW 750Li and a 550i coupe for my wife, but I couldn't afford to own a Jaguar F-Type and a Corvette. The sticker price for those two cars compares to the cars I have now, but the ownership cost is much higher with sports cars, especially those two.

Truth is paddle shifting is faster so paddle cars accelerate faster than the equivalent manual, but I agree that manual is better in all other ways. There is acutally now a manual version of the F-type (the coupe).

Pollution from noise is a big problem from the exhausts.This would be unwelcome on UK narrow roads and outlawed in Switzerland. No noisy exhausts it makes peoples lives terrible living near roads.

neilcoo 1. Bit of a joke I made and this Jag is the only one I would consider buying. and 2. There is NO way that JD Power survey is helpful. When you have 112 problems out of a 100 cars, but many those include drivetrain issues (vs a leaky sunroof) there is a difference in what I would consider an "issue."

While the new automatics (especially dual clutch) do outperform standard manuals, the real reason manuals are being phased out is because most of the people that can afford these super and hypercars are unable to drive clutch. Countless sports players and celebrities that were gifted or that wanted to purchase these cars couldn't drive them. Now that they have automatics, sequential manual gearboxes and dual clutches, the sales of these super and hyper cars are through the roof. Even the Aventador has record sales and Paris Hilton can drive her gifted Lexus LFA! Think about it!

There's a possibility they could include a manual over time but it doesn't seem likely. Its essentially a grand tourer that you can thrash on a track with no issues and then drive home in comfort. So the zf 8 speed auto is a great transmission for that car.
