The reasoning behind the "flimsy" windscreen is because when you are going 180MPH on that bike it will bend and contour to the air flow off of your helmet, thus reducing drag.

I like the honesty in your reviews. People jumped on you for your commentary on the ZX6, but a bike won't fit every person. Sometimes there are bikes that just don't resonate with us. That's why I love your videos; you aren't afraid to criticize what isn't working for you. It helps people who may in the market for that particular bike because they'll have a heads-up about things to look out for. Anyway, that ZX10 is absolutely gorgeous. If I ever get a liter bike, that's the one I want. The tach is awesome, and usually stock exhausts don't sound good but Kawasaki did a good job with this.

Can you do a first ride of the BMW S1000RR?
@ericterry48909 жыл бұрын
Chase - First let me say, thank you, for doing what you do. The work you put into reviewing the bikes you test ride is valuable and your efforts are not being wasted. I'm in the market for my third bike and have been having a heck of a time deciding on either a sport touring or the 600cc class (in know...huge difference). After seeing your review on the Hayabusa, some 600's and now the liter bikes, I believe I know where my next purchase should land: Kawasaki ZX-10R. My commute to work is 40 miles one way and twice a week I drive an additional 60 miles to school so 80% - 90% of my riding is highway. My experience on the Daytona 675R was a great test ride but not comfortable for the distance. The 'Busa...well...just not there yet and the ZX 14R is a little more than I need. So, your review of the 1000cc's made the difference. If you have a suggestion...certainly open to hearing it. Going this weekend to test the ZX-10R. Thanks again man and stay safe. Would love to know your opinion on the Triumph Daytona 675R (if you have not posted a vlog on it yet).

I have to agree with you on how light liter bikes feel nowadays. I just bought my dream bike last week an 2015 Aprilia Tuono V4R and was amazed at how quick turn in was on it. And how planted it felt in the turns it also has three ride modes, 3 levels of wheelie control, launch control, & ABS. Along with 8 levels of traction control. All of which can be turned off completely. I think a lot of newer bikes are being made over complicated with all of the electronics but nevertheless I still love it and it gives you tons of personalization. It will allow for a person that's not too comfortable to have plenty of safety features. But also allows for somebody like me that likes the traction control for the sandy roads we still have but can turn wheelie control off at the same time to have a little bit of play.

Very detailed! We had a chance to test this on the track for a day and our experience with the electronics on this bike was not pleasant. Mode 3 you gotta gas really hard and the traction controls allows the rear to slide and then cuts the slide very abruptly provoking a high side. How was your experience? This was out on a track and we can't wait to test this on the streets.

Mike Labonte Suzuki might not have the latest electronic bling but there's not too much to complain about sitting on one. They're comfy, they pull hard enough to wheelie without popping the clutch, they steer through corners like they're planted on rails, Brembo brakes, not really too much I can say negative about them. Helps that I own one though :P Only things I'm planning to truly change is the suspension (which I would doubtless change on pretty much any bike I own since I'm quite far from the magical ideal rider weight to spring ratio), and stick a quickshifter on there. My main gripe is that it doesn't have ABS.

Also Chase, when you say 7grand. You should use 7k instead as grand is generally used for measurement of money.

I have the 2012 which is practically the same as this one minus the electronic steering damper and I totally agree, it is the best 1000cc out in the market, the mirrors are awesome, it's light, feels small, and has all the gadgets and aids you would ever need. Another thing to note which is not mentioned in the video is the KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent Braking System), and also the traction control serves as a wheelie control too. There is a video on youtube of a press rider coming out of a left hand bend and the wheel pops up, rider wasn't aware til he was show the video. Oh and with the flimsy screen, I have a hot bodies which seems to have been made from a much firmer material and it hardly ever moves! BTW exhaust is a must on this bike as a top priority mod!!! If you're in the market for a new bike/upgrade, make sure to test ride one, trust me you wont be disappointed! ;)

I know you made this video sometime back but I have to say I really did enjoy it. The reason I found your video is that someone on craigslist has this bike for sale same year same model same color actually. So I googled the bike to see what people had to say and so far it's all been good. I can't respect the way you drove the bike. A lot of these videos the person making the videos is more about showing off than they are about talking about the bike. I've been thinking about getting back into racing it's been a long time since I have and just bike looks like it might just fit what I'm looking for. If you didn't show how well it responded at different RPMs and different settings it would be hard to make a decision based on written story of the features. I did notice when you went into low that you carried a higher rpm than you were when it was on full blast. I absolutely made sure to hit the like button and subscribe. I look forward to watching some of your old stuff and new stuff.

Great video man, really liked seeing your opinion of this beast. Would definitely be an amazing bike to add to any garage. To me it is really hard to beat the Kawi's, especially the newer bikes these days. Love my 636 and dont think I could ever give it up, if so it would only be for another kawi.

Ive had the same (well almost) bike since '12 and at times I am taken back by how much power it has at full throttle. This past weekend I was coming out of a few roundabouts in first hammering on the throttle and you could feel the rear trying to maintain traction and the rush of power it has. It def is quite the bike. The mirrors are def amazing, best mirrors ive seen. Could you see the actual blinkers in front right above the mirror itself? there is a slight opening above the mirror itself that allows you to see the back side/top or so or the blinker, so even without looking at the dash you can see your actual blinkers. The sad part is when you flash the ECU you gain about 15 or so hp just by that, as well as a higher rev limit and changing TC on the fly too. Do just that and its almost a different bike with how restricted they are from the factory. I have a few videos of mine with the ECU flashed at a track, feel free to check them out if youd like to see how well it performs there. FYI the flashing tach when you get up in the revs def helps, when you are giving it full throttle you can be looking ahead where you are going and just see the tach flash and upshift without having to take your eyes off the road/track.

The ZX-10R... Easily the best Japanese Liter bike out there. In fact, the only one of them that even compares to the exotic Euro Liter bikes. Great bike, and in the right hands, is very fast! Though, that Windscreen does seem a little flimsy...

I miss the unedited first rides. Power control modes typically aren't just about power percentage but how soon you get it. With ride by wire throttles they can change the throttle curve as to how the throttle plates open. They can take it from a very shallow curve upwards that opens faster the more throttle you give it, to a straight angled line that gives you a straight 1% for 1% throttle type thing to basically drag racing set where if you open the throttle it gives you 100% right at the hit of the throttle.
