Thanks Ryan for these videos...between you and Steve Housenden, I've changed out or installed new parts that originally planned to have someone else install. I just finished installing Kuryakyn Zombie saddlebag levers, clutch and brake levers on my 2019 Road Glide...as well as removing the mast antenna, and installed the HD hidden antenna inside the fairing.... again, thank you for the info. I try to catch all your new videos when they post.

This video caused me to break tabs off my speaker covers. You DO NOT want to lift straight up with your pick tool on the outside edge of the cover. Lift, or pry with a body panel tool, on the INSIDE edge (handlebar side), then slide the outside edge tab out. I have the Stage 2 sound system, so possibly it's different. Your method of reinstalling the covers is exactly right.

I agree completely that you should work from the inside edge of the grill first pulling the two body panel pins - even with stock speakers and grills.

Update...the windshield is now held in with 1/8 inch allen cap screws for 2017s.

Another great video. Curious what the owner thinks about the Road Glide vs. the his previous Street Glide? Also, why did he choose the blue over the other colors? I am having problems deciding on a color.

bodeans59 Thanks bodeans59. The owner is 6'4" and the road glide allows for a better riding position. The biker feels longer to the rider even though it isn't. He choose blue because I already have the whiskey amber, and in his words "everyone has a black bike". The Superior Blue is a sweet color and looks great in the sun. Hope this helps. Very clear video, but I am puzzled by one thing. When the fairing is finally pulled from the bike, I expected to see a wiring harness attached to the front turn indicators, but I didn't see this. The connector is separated up towards the top of the fairing, which would leave some wiring attached to the turn indicator, no?

That's not quite what I meant. There is a connector at the top of the fairing, but the lights are down lower on the fairing, so there has to be some wiring between that connector and the lights. I guess the that harness is clipped to the fairing, so when the fairing is removed, the harness doesn't dangle. I'll get this all figured out when I remove the fairing this weekend. Thanks for the great video!!!

The wires are attached to the inside of the fairing, if you look closely as he removes it (4:33) you can see them snaking down to the blinkers/indicaters. HD actually did a nice job keeping them secure and out of the way.

Do I have to remove the entire faring to upgrade the charging port to a dedicated USB adapter. Nice that HD provided that but every time I ride the USB adapter that plugs into to it works it's way out and I have to continuously shove it back in the port.

Is bouncing it off the front fender a necessary step? JK. First step for a fairing bike is cover the fender. Very informative and easy to follow otherwise. I agree with previous poster; intention of speaker grille design is to remove inboard of speaker grille first by using a plastic trim removal tool.

What do you with the headlights when you want to install an amplifier?

+Richard Cote We actually just installed a Boom amplifier and speakers. The amp mounted under the stereo with a bracket. We removed the lights for easier installation of the amp and put them back in place after the amp was installed. We have a for purchase video of that install. bodeans59 japsw20 is correct. It's a Klockwerks Sport Flare. Great windshield that provides style and function. A massive difference from the stock crappy windshield.

I got a question I took the thing off the faring when I put it back on after putting amplifiers in a couple other things it doesn’t quite seal correctly on the top by the windshield and the vent under the windshield into the sides a little bit what is the issue going on here? Where do I have to look at? What do I have to look for?

Hey guys, love the channel. Thanks for all of the great info. I own a 2016 Road Glide Special and want to install the 7-pin DIN connector that Ryan discusses here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn7LhpKsj9eZgrs) but am not sure if removing the fairing explained in THIS video will give me the access I need. Thoughts? Is the process essentially the same between the Street Glide and the Road Glide beyond the fairing...and...once installed, does the radio need to be flashed by Harley or is it ready to use once installed? Really; great channel. Thank you for all that you are doing...and yes, I ordered and have the Biker Boom Headset. :-)
