I have had my Primavera for 8 months. Very happy with the fit and finish and throttle response which has improved since breaking it in. Braking is good, though I am still unclear why Piaggio is still using a drum at the back. Dislike the red seat on my white Primavera and unfortunately, the Canadian market only has 3 colour choices for the 150 (red, black, white). I swapped out the seat for a black seat from the Sprint and love it. Gas mileage is great. Would have liked an accessory outlet. I have the Vespa top case which is not as roomy I would have liked but matches the scooter well. Tires provide good grip. Must use premium low octane fuel (less ethanol) for best engine performance. It is an expensive scooter that I hope lasts a very long time. It brings a smile to my face and pretty much everyone else I meet as well! I might go back to San Diego just to visit Vespa Motorsport.

Steve and Robot, Thank you for an awesome review! Because of this review, i bought the Primavera 150 as my first Vespa :) I love riding my Primavera every where. I do have one quick question and maybe you guys can help me out. I weigh about 100kg and I'm pretty tall so i was wondering if i want a little more acceleration out of the bike, what can i do? i don't want to change to much. i was reading that changing the rollers to Malossi Rollers 12.5 grams will help a lot. Is this true?

Erm.. lose some weight? Not being funny, but that's where I'd start. Unless, it;s impossible (you're muscle rather than fat), then swapping rollers for lighter ones should give a slight increase in acceleration. Also, I'd use dr pulley sliders rather than rollers. They make the most out of variator's space.

I just upgraded to one of these from a 2008 LX150, and I have a couple of gripes: 1. We can smell the exhaust when stopped at a stoplight. Never had this issue with the old LX150. Is this a common complaint? Will it go away after we break it in? If not, is there anything I can do to help? (other small gripes) 2. The speedometer really should have the mph in big numbers and km/h in smaller numbers for the US market. 3. The dash should have a separate light for left and right turn signals. My old LX150 had separate indicators. Not sure why this one doesn't. 4. The seat hook is much lower and so less useful than the old LX150. Not sure why that was necessary or why they couldn't have installed a bigger hook. Overall I like the Primavera though. Mileage is great; runs smooth. Hope I can live with these gripes. Hope someone has tips re: the exhaust issue.

+Aidan Skoyles The exhaust smell should go away shortly. It's just all the new paint and palstic that smells when it gets heated up. It's totally normally and will go away. Thanks for the comment!

Unfortunately we don't rent Vespas. We tried but the legalities were too difficult for us.

***** That's ok, just curious. I would recommend you double check that legal problem though. It may be tough in Cali, but, U-haul and other companies have license plates from rent friendly states for that exact reason. Good luck on that. Thanks for the video's, they are very informative. I have learned quit a bit about what is a cheap scooter VS a Vespa.

Very helpful video. Two questions: 1) How difficult is it to install a 12v power socket inside (or outside) the glove compartment? Is the handlebar steady during a ride, or slightly wobbly like some of the cheaper scooters with smaller wheels?

Sorry for a late comment, but I have a question about the instrumentation. Is there a way to change the dashboard to display miles instead of kilometers for speed, or is it permanent? I find it easier to see mph than km/h since all the signs in California are mph.

James Andrada Not at all! Most of us here at the shop started riding Vespas around that age!

You do in California, but that doesn't mean you have ride a motorcycle, or take the test on a motorcycle. They consider almost anything on two wheels a Motorcycle here. Look up your local DMV rules and get on that Vespa!

We'd probably recommend one of the 150 models for someone with little riding experience. A good used Vespa LX or S would be a great place to start, then you can upgrade from there.

Hello. I have question regarding front suspension of 2015 primavera. Is it normal that stock shock absorber is very soft? And what i mean by soft is that i Can push to tee bottom pretty easily and everytime when braking with front brake absorber goes to bottom. Is this normal behavior? is the basic shell still made of metal? or they changed everything to Plastic?

ripmax333 All the Vespas have what they call a monocoque frame...so the shell is the frame itself. The frame is still metal, but the front fender, handlebar covers, glovebox etc. are plastic. Still an excellent product from Vespa!

+Mr Hippie My 2011 LX was a model they started with fuel injection. I really want a new 300 Super. When I can afford it I will buy one. I love my 150 LX. I know they had a recall on my year of the fuel injection. I had it replaced and I have had no problems with the replacement fuel injection.

Can Vespa's reach highway speed ?

In CA, any 150cc can legally drive on the the highway. All the Vespas can reach highway speeds, but the 150cc bikes are not recommended for long periods of time on the highway. The 300cc Vespas do really well on the freeway!

when ELECTRO MAGNET PULSE weapons go off in our USA skies ALL "CHIPS" will be fried. Only older cars & vehicles w/ NO ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION will still run. This will not.
