The Tuono is known to run hot. :) this is pretty much the only thing everybody complains about. Small price to pay for such a great bike and experience...

What level are you running TC,WC these days. Right down yet? And are you annoyed with the fact you cannot sit at 50kph in 2nd or 3rd? i ended up dropping a tooth on the front.

Is the Aprilia reliable, any issues yet? What's your average l/100km?

Very reliable, had no issues at all. To be fair it is a brand new bike so I'd sort of hope there aren't any issues haha. Average L/100km is about 8-9 I think, I'll check and update later when I get off work.

I've had mine for 1.2yrs and have done around 6k miles. Zero problems to report, just ecu updates and had a front master cylinder recall. Those were all just a quick 30min trip to dealer.

good to see sandringham road and new north road being ridden by the beautiful tuono factory! Im just deciding between the factory and RR. How are you finding the factory? Is the engine too much for the roads?

Unfortunately I only had it for a few weeks - demo bike... And recent equipment problems/job stuff have meant less recording (obviously, given the lack of new content since this haha). I tried to record all of the ride I went on just after this, but it started raining then my GoPro died -___- I found the Factory to be fine. The engine is absolutely unnecessary haha, but that's the beauty of it. You COULD be responsible and get a sub 600cc bike for the cheaper rego and better mileage but there's something so intoxicating about pinning it, feeling the engine fighting the electronics and trying to hold on. Then there's the quickshifter... A thing of beauty. If you're commuting, it's fine. I took it to work for the while I had it which included a voluntary motorway blast, and it was fine. Second gear is comfy at 50kph. However, the seating position is pretty similar to a sports bike - the pegs are quite high up. If you want comfort over brutal power, something like a Speed Triple might be a better bet. However, I didn't feel near as cramped as I do on a sports bike - the higher bars take care of that. The Tuono might not be the most comfy naked bike, but its far from UNcomfortable. In terms of Factory vs RR, I didn't ride the RR but since its just paint scheme/suspension, I'd say just get the best you can afford. The Factory does give you more ammo in the perpetual litre bike pissing contest but I'd imagine the RR is still far better than 90% of everything else on the road. I can definitely see myself getting one!

Test rode an RR at cyclespot on the shore last week, cant get it out of my mind ever since haha. Best sounding bike Ive ever been on. Found it to be comfortable compared to my old zx6r which I sold a week ago. Pegs were high but no worse than zx6r. Just wondering if I can live with it or should get say a 2016 800 brutale or speed triple where I could rev it more and be more involved, more gear changing, be more busy on the bike. The tuono id probably never touch the potential without a race track and never use more than 3rd gear on the streets. But the tuono is calling me like a drug! That thing is amazing! I used to see a guy on a factory who must have been commuting around the same time as me. He lived near eden park and had dealer plates on the bike. Love the look of the factory!

Exactly. I reckon if you want to "ride"more, get a smaller engine as it is, as you say, more involving. The Brutale would be awesome, as would the new Street Triple... Cannot wait for that. But there's nothing like a big V4 ;) When did you see that guy? I used to live around Eden Park and that factory had dealer plates haha

Might have been you i saw a few times bloody small world haha. I cut thru the roads around eden park to get from dominion road onto sandringham road every weekday just after 6ish.

Hahah could well have been - remember the helmet? Mine's a red Shoei, but I had a black LS2 with a white stripe down the middle for about half the time I had the Tuono.
