At the drags here in ABQ last night a Hellcat did 11.43 with just basic MT streets @ around 5310 feet elevation.

This is at a track at 5400 ft, Mile high, but cooler air, DA was below 4000 ft. So a 12.4 at 116 is pretty good.

@the fast lane car. The trick on stock street tires is to bump the paddle once staged into second (but leave the car shift). You want to launch in second gear with a nice smooth throttle push.

I love how everyone said that the hellcat has so much more power and barely beat the M3. Give the M3 300 more hp and bye bye kitty.....lol.......first off, it wasn't even close. Trap speed was 8mph more and that would only keep increasing as distance would increase. Next you can tune a hellcat as you can an M3 so M3 will always be playing catch up. This is coming from a guy that loves the M3 too.

I knew the Hellcat was going to easily beat the M3, but what surprised me the most was the trap speed. 8 mph slower and at that point the Hellcat be walking away from it more if longer distance. That sea level really destroys times. I mean a 392 posting 14.01 sec gives a nice gauge as to how bad the times are there. I love the M3. Actually really wanted to get one, but the one I spec'd out was $88k. Too much for me. I ended up getting a used Hellcat with only 1059 miles on it and love it. I still would like to get a M3 one day.

Don't need to if you apply altitude correction as set forth by the NHRA or other organizations. Not sure if Bandimere times already reflect the correction already but lets assume not. So if they ran 12.4 @ 116 and you correct for altitude ( I am not sure of the air temp or density that day) with correction he ran 11.9 or 12.0 which puts him right on par with Motorweek, Car and Driver etc if not just a tad faster.

Nah. The A8 snaps gears fast and smooth as snot. No actions except launching in second and sliding over into drive. He's doing it right from everything I have read when learning how to launch mine. . 2nd into drive. He'd see great improvement with a driveshaft upgrade and drag radials.

Not poor, just not as good in all the tests as the Mustang and Camaro, which are both brand new designs. The Challenger does really well for a car that was designed long before some of those tests came into play.
