Probably the best brake video on here. Hate it when some of these don't fast forward the wrench work.

As a professional mechanic... DO NOT EVER LEAVE A CALIPER HANG BY IT BRAKE HOSE!!!
@BikerBry3 жыл бұрын
How did you like those caliper mounts? The locktite on mine were insane! They even stalled my impact! They tightened up about half way out and almost seized. I needed a breaker bar to get them the rest of the way out.

Don’t you have to remove the brake fluid filler cap before you press the caliper in ?

What brake pads did you use? Pads I ordered as well as others that I have researched on RockAuto don't come with holes drilled for the spring wires but say they are compatible with this model car. The old pads have the spring wires installed. 2016 Sonata SE/manual brakes

I used autozone brand

I ran into this also. The OE pads Im replacing had 2 wire springs on the brake pads of each caliper, keeping the pads spread and off from riding on the brake rotor. The pads had holes drilled in them to accept the wire springs. The NAPA pads listed didn’t have them. I should say, the Napa pads that came with the wires in the packaging were a completely different shape brake pad then the OE. The Napa pads that were a match did not have the wires or holes drilled in the pad to accept the wire. Found the pads with the holes in stock at another large auto parts retailer, but had to order the springs separately. What a pain.

How do you know if you have a manual parking brake or power? Is the manual one the one you push down with your feet?
@JaboTheMechanic4 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct

Hey did you apply the parking brakes during the video? Is that why you tensioned the brakes? Please let me know, I am doing my brakes this weekend

No parking brake must be not engaged so you can take off the rotor

You need wheel chocks or a piece of wood

Need to torque the lug nuts to the proper, specified torque with a torque wrench. And then recheck torque after 25-100 miles.

Why companies still use drum brakes on cars is beyond me.
