Thanks!! Yea several people have said this. I can’t remember if it was in the instructions to do this or I was just being cautious so I wouldn’t hurt the sensor wire going into the wheel bearing.

pro tip: Jack the corner under the lower control arm to give the upper balljoint an easier exit. Jack it up higher, 1 smack and it's out.

Okay so my opinion it's not that much smoother. Prolly close to the same. They are holding up pretty good so far. Definitely recommend this route instead of the spacer if it's in the budget. Just remember to get a realignment after. Thanks for watching! Firestone Airbag install coming soon!

Hope you also get the rough country upper control arms, because it does change the angle on that joint with pressure. Rough country uppers come with that certain angle you need for this lift

So 3in and above they recommend the upper a arms. So far we have 60k on the lift in total and no issues. Is there a minimum on lift with the rough country a arms?

FYI...just installed this same set up and same problem front higher then the back had to use 1.5 inch spacers in the rear to level the truck much better with the spacers

Late to the party but I performed the exact lift on my 2011 Ram with 20" tires. 33x12.50's rub at full lock, I'm thinking you are gonna need more than 2 inches to run 35's.

@georgebishop6745 I think it will depend on brand since some run bigger then others. The Radar renegades I run actually run a little on the small side. So there 35 is more like a 34.

Nice video man, I’ve been looking to level out my 2018 Ram 1500 4x4, and don’t really want to do a spacer level, and I’ve been looking into theses, but the only think Is that it’s a 2 inch level instead of the 2.5 that I’ve been seeing on theses 4th gen ram’s, my question is that did this 2’ rough county leveling kit level the truck out perfect. I don’t have the air ride suspension just regular. But please let me know and thank!

Leveled out perfect. I don't have factory air ride suspension either. I have the Firestone aftermarket ones. Just happens mine just blew out. Lol. So I'll have a video coming soon on the new installs!

Yea it ended up settling. If I was going to be picky I wish it sat up just a smudge more in the back. But since I usually tow with it it’s not a big deal. By measurements I believe it’s even. Haven’t rechecked it in a awhile. Yea you will lose your comfortable ride and maybe a mpg or 2

What is the long term review of the shocks? Did they settle and look level or was it still riding higher in the front? I've heard that this is a common complaint about this kit.

Truck leveled out pretty good. Needed to just take it down the road that’s all. I will say I wish it was just a smudge higher in the back

@@FullSpeedImpulse I'm with you on the rear part. TBH, I prefer to keep the factory stance. I understand why the engineers did that. It is so when the truck is loaded, it sits leveled. The trouble is that most of us don't load our trucks out every day.

I think part of it is aerodynamics too. Because when I leveled my truck out my mpg suffered a little in the process. And before I leveled the truck out and put airbags in the back. I’ll admit that the factory ride was super comfortable. But I personally like my trucks level. But different strokes for different folks. @@FullSpeedImpulse I'm currently in the process of installing a BDS 4" kit right now on my truck.. Got a good deal on a used one. However the front of the kit uses spacers and the standard strut. Its a well developed kit and I hear guys have 1000s of miles of use on them without a single issue. Seeing that my front shocks are a bit tired, I thought of replacing whole combo with just struts. So far, Rough Country has a set of N3 shocks that fit the bill. I'm just researching reviews of those who have used them. I notice that on forums and stuff, there is quite a bit of hate for Rough Country; mostly from those who are repeating bad experiences of acquaintances.

I think in the end it comes down to what you want to spend. Rough Country offers a affordable price on what I would consider a overall good product. We have purchased several off-road kits for our jeeps through them and they have all worked great. But bds is a good brand. Just like fox or kings are really good too. But it’s going to cost you. And if your not actually off-roading the vehicle and just looking to set it level I’d say RC is your best option. Also if your lifting over 3in I believe you have to by a set of control arms for the truck

Why did you remove the calipers and rotors?

Several people have asked me this. I believe I did it to remove the sensor wire. Maybe from over extending the control arms while removing the coil. Or maybe the instructions told me too. It was almost a year ago since I did this. Sounds like people have done it by not removing but not sure if you take the risk of messing something up

measured the rear of my ram it sits about 3" higher than the front.. worried that if i get this 2 inch strut it will be to low in the front, and if i get a 3 inch strut it will be too high.. i read that this strut actually sits closer to 2.5". any ideas?

I think you would be fairly surprised on how level your truck will sit after you put these on. I will admit when I had the spacers in the stock struts my truck was dead level. But it kills the struts and is no fun installing. I’m sure there is a lot more science behind it but when your lifting the front end of your truck I wouldn’t be surprised if a small fraction of your back in is going lower. Good luck 👍

Yep you’re gonna have that. Lost a little mpg when I leveled it out too. That and the Mud tires didn’t help. But those tires have gotten me out of some sticky situations when we were out on some of our off-roading trips and it rained.

More then one way to skin a cat 🐱. Pretty sure I removed it so I could get to my sensor in the hub. That way I could work comfortably and not worry about pulling on that sensor or the brake caliper line when I over extend the control arms getting the struts out. But that’s only what I’m assuming since it’s been almost a year since I’ve done that.

When I done the 2.5 leveling spacers the kit came with 1/2 inch spacers for the rear. I installed them as well and the rear was still a little higher. I recently purchased the 3 inch struts so hopefully it will be level now.

Thanks for the info Tony. Yea I feel like this truck was dead nuts level with spacers in the front. But now with the struts I feel like at the right angle it looks like it sits a little higher in the front. O well. I tow a lot so a slight sag with everything isn’t bad. I have aftermarket airbags in the coils in the rear. Anyone know how that works if you want to lift the back?

We currently run a 33x12.5 on the stock rims. They are radar renegades and I actually have two videos on these tires because I think they are fantastic. We are currently looking into upgrading to 35s next year in the same tire. On the stock rims idk yet. I always have a issue spending money on a rim that has zero function and that I’ll have to worry about curbing them which I don’t do it but it prolly would with new rims. Lol.
