The 2018 BMW s1000rr dashboard and controls for 2018 BMW s1000rr use was intimidating at first, but here's the 2018 bmw s1000rr review of the controls simplified and also applies to the 2017 BMW s1000rr review of controls use. @@BRZO.RACING i don't think so as that should all be controlled by the computer trying to optimize your launch. if there is a way, i'm not aware and didn't see anything about it.

When downshifting and taking ur hand of the throttle completely, it sometimes doesn't go in a lower gear that smooth or it just doesnt downshift automatically, when u open up the throttle slightly is downshfits much smoother

just an idea, but you might be going too slow. i've noticed if i'm not going fast enough, the downshifts don't work as well as when you've been hammering it, but you should have to be fully off throttle to downshift well and fully on to upshift well.

@FITNESSOVER45 first, you can't until it's low on gas if it's one of the earlier models like mine when it had the '10 dash. on the '18 like this, you can. i just went to the garage to confirm, looks like you hit the lap button on the left pressing 'trip' which is up on it and that will cycle through the display from odo to trips to range.

Great video. Is there gas gauge/level on the RR? My S1000R and S1000XR both showed gas level, not just distance left in the tank. Thank you

not that i know of, just the range. The '10 electronics only told range once the low fuel light came on, but the '18 setup i have now shows range the whole time. if there's a way to see the gage/level, i didn't find it?

Hello, thanks for the video, I would like to ask a quick question, how is the fitment of a 2017 engine on a 2010 chasis ? I would also like to do a similair project.

you're welcome, and it's obviously doable. the mechanical part is bolt in place for the engine, you have to swap the wiring harnesses too, the headlight cables had to be modified, and the quickshifter mount setup is different, so that took some custom fabrications. the better approach is trade in your '10 for a newer model, but i had sentimental attachment to my '10, so that's why i did what i did.

that one should be the zero gravity one. i think the corsa one? there's a really low profile one, but it's not that, as i need that shield to deflect air up and over my helmet when tucked. When i put the alpha carbon race body on in later videos, there was a different shield included with the alpha kit that is currently installed.

Any idea what could cause the cruise control to not work?

the first thing that comes to mind is the microswitch on the clutch (see other videos i made on it), but if that switch isn't engaging (bad switch, loose clutch cable), cruise won't work nor will the quickshifter. beyond that, is the dash throwing any errors? any sensor related to it being bad could effect it, but i'm more familiar with troubleshooting the QS as i had issues with that, not with the cruise.

yeah, once the dash is on, just use the 'slick' button on the left button housing up or down to adjust DTC. that's how mine works anyway as an '18 setup with the RCK software

@old man strength yeppers, i've done track days, drag strips, land speed, mountains, hill country, etc. with it. the upshift assist is a big deal for drag/landspeed being able to just hang on to the bars and kick up through the gears. The '10 setup only had upshift assist, but this '18 setup has both upshift assist and the downshift autoblipper as you're saying and is great for downshifting into turns.

by bike has the alpha racing rck2/3 or something like that on it, so the menu might be a little different than factory.
