Hearing about the trail magic that happens is a reminder of the goodness that still is out there in the world. Happy Trails!

My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer right after building his dream home on the beach directly after retirement so this touched me so much. Thank you for carrying so many with you whose journey's have been cut short in life...

I admire your calmness. Another great video and commentary. By the way you are looking great.

Really enjoying your videos. I like the 20 min range in length. You produce a great mix of your itinerary, other hikers, town filming, and trail/shelter footage. Some other channels get annoying when the hiker mostly focuses on their daily itinerary. Also love that you hike light, rather than ultra light with Zpacks everything. You're doing a great job!

Reddmage, I can't hike again until 2019. Your videos help with the time passing. Good to see that you are hiking your own hike. Good to see you ahead of the crowd that can suck you in and turn the grand adventure into one big slow moving party. Be safe.

You hear so many stories like Jim's. Cease the moment because tomorrow is not promised. Remember your walking not only for Jim but for all that are cheering you on.

So true. Brought tears to my eyes when I read her sign. In 2016, a few months shy of 50 years, learned the meaning of "till death do us part". No, tomorrow isn't promised. An anticipated anniversary date doesn't always arrive, as expected. Thank you for picking up a stone for Jim. I'm sure it will mean so much to her.

Mountain Run Review , so many subscribers asked the same question. It only took him to Day 101 to show his cook session. Part of the problem was that for most of the trip he was going stoveless.

I have been watching and am up to day 21. I was wondering if you haven't already if you could spend some time on shelter...tent set up and food prep for breakfast lunch and dinner. Are you using a stove and if so could you explaine any likes dislikes and show how you prepare you meal. Enjoy in the series :)

Michael Butler Have you had a chance to look at Uncle Paul, Blessing of Adventure ? He is going to bennifit from much encouragement. His weight is a real challenge and he started in the north - that's tough!

15:59 pause video having just read the note and request by Bamahiker’s wife, I’ve been crying like a baby; that note speaks volumes if/when I make my dream come true to hike the AT in 2020, it would be my honor and privilage to carry a pebble from Georgia to Maine in remembrance of James His story is one that can inspire many people to follow their dreams. He was being responsible to finish his job to retirement before setting out on his AT journey. But we never know what tomorrow holds. And I suppose we realize that and sense our mortality more and more as we age. I’m planning/hoping to hike the AT in 2020 coz I’ll turn 60 that year and to have time to get ready. This has me wondering if I should try to move my AT hike up to 2019 but I’m the type who would like to have more time to learn and prepare. Haha I’ve never had a backpack on my back. I need to buy all my gear and learn how to use it. Anyway, I’m going to send BamaHiker’s wife an email and ask her about carrying a pebble for him. Because I bet that pair of boots may not be there in 2019 and 2020. It is a beautiful thing she is doing for her husband. And a great legacy and message for him to leave behind. I wonder if he knew she was going to do that. Rest in Peace BamaHiker

Thank you for watching my videos of my AT hike, I carried that pebble and left it on Katahdin *SPOILERS* also got in touch with her about the pebble for James, it was truly heartfelt and the least I could do.

So mixed - want rain up there, so I can see the green where you're going, but don't want it raining directly on -you-.

So are you going by Reddmage on trail or still waiting for an "official" trail name?

I'd answer to reddmage, but haven't got a trail name yet
@VanlilfewithDaleandBailey6 жыл бұрын
Hey Reddmage! I can't recall if you did or not, did you ever take that pebble all the way to Katahdin, take a photo, and send it to that lady. At the 16 min mark I believe.
@reddmage6 жыл бұрын
I did! Sent her an email with the photo and told her that I had got the pebble at Fontana and dropped it into the stone stack under the Katahdin sign.
