Nice review, but your 0-100 km/h is way off, as is the 1/4 mile you claim. The actual 0-100 km/h is 4.6 seconds. The 1/4 mile is 13.1 @ 174 km/h...AKA 108 and change mph US. The 0-60 mph time is 4.5 seconds. Other than that, great review of my next car. I'm looking at fully loaded 2018-19 540i xdrive models with under 30k miles US in the next few months or so. I'm looking forward to the upgrade over my '15 Infiniti Q50 3.7 Premium. I love this G30 540i! Awesome machine!

dude your wrong on the 0-60, with x drive its actually 4.4 seconds, but whats more important is the 80 to 130 which is about 4.4 and that is stock. IF you do 3 things, new plugs, a tune and an air intake you can get close to 400 hp out of the B58. so for less than $700 bucks you can do close to 4 sec 0-60. I can tell you those speeds are easy because I do it all the time with a stock car.

I was lookin for new BMW and I took a 750i and a 17 540i for a test ride. I bought the 540i M sport. It is a very fast car, I mean very fast. Has all the features one would want. Turned the gestures off just cuz it is a pain if talk a lot on the phone. My opinion this is the best of BMW. Don't think there is a car that can beat this

It's difficult to not seem biased when there's almost no flaws with a car.

One thing I don't like is that you can't put anything underneath the trunk floor cover anymore. In my old 5 series, it had the space for a spare tire, but since I had run flats, I didn't have a spare tire. But I used that space to store things like: safety vest, empty bags, rags, … And you didn't see that stuff when you opened the trunk. Another thing I don't like is still the absence of the ability of choosing an interval for the wind shield wipers. In cars I owned before I had my BMW, you could really fine tune the interval, depending on the intensity of the rain.

@@MotorPressReviews But I think its a more way of taste for somebody. I preffer Mercedes e clas over the bmw 5 series. Somebody preffer Bmw over the Mercedes. I think if u like more sportier ride Bmw is way to go, but if u like more like a Comfort and not that sporty ride more like a smooth ride its a way to go with Mercedes. All from me 😀

It does. The newest 5 Series (the G30), from 2017 onwards, is the first BMW 5 Series ever that is a better car than the E-Class Mercedes: All the testers and reviewers you can find, agree that this is the case.

I want my 8 minutes back. I wish I stopped at "much better looking" than the previous generation part. How does it compare to the previous generation? Driving? Consumption to 535? Etc? Since when is 11.8 l "impressive" for a 6 cy? Isn't that the same consumption 535 gets? No cons? It's better than the cars you mentioned...? How? Why? Honestly, you really didn't need the car for this review. Promo materials would have been enough.

Well, to answer your question, I own a 2011 535i, which gets 12.5lt/100km, is MUCH slower, feels much heavier and looks good until you park the new one next to it. It is better than the cars I mentioned in every way. It drives better, handles better, ride comfort is amazing, tech is way ahead, roominess, etc. 8 minutes is a long video my friend, and I cut it short so this info was left out in such detail. And I did tell you the cons. Those were it.

Yes, I want those minutes spent for writing the comment(s) back too :) 2011 is the early production F10. Then there was a face lift. It would make sense to compare it to a 2016 model, not a 2011, 2008 or 2005, right? 2011 535 and 2016 535 don't even have the same engines. 2017 540 compared to a 2016 535 is objectively not a "much better looking" car. It may be subjectively to your 2011 pre-facelift model, but objectively it is a very conservative exterior redesign, borderline facelift redesign. Comparison to an older model should definitely be part of the video. You can for example skip the bongo part. The handling, driving "better" is very, very general and subjective. Is it on the firm side, how does the wheel/ front tire connection feel like etc. "Better" tech is also very general. What makes it better compared to the competition? Gesture control? Many reviewers question usefulness of this. For a reason. It is meant to wow you first time and then most likely drivers are going to forget about it. Etc. etc.

+M R A I have driven it, multiple times and it is nowhere near. It's is good, but does not compare IMHO. Driving dynamics are ok but the car feels totally disconnected and the drivetrain is not as refined.

It most certainly , certainly, does beat the Mercedes E-Class ! Since the introduction of this G30 model series from 2017 onwards, this is the case.
