Just bought the same bike this weekend! Riding to Washington DC with my high school Buddy to go to a Flaming Lips Show on Memorial Day Wknd. He bought the same bike last fall. Funny thing is we bought the bikes from 2 guys that rode together all over - so the bikes will be “staying together”. Upgrading from a KLR. At 50 years old, I don’t need to get so beat up on the highway anymore! Solid Video - Thx

Hi Fella. Just collected one exactly the same as yours and after nearly 50 years of riding "nip zip" have been asking myself why I didn't get one of these earlier. Looking forward to doing some serious miles now that I have moved to West Scotland and its fabulous roads. Best and keep safe Old Bloke.

Nice. I’m debating selling or keeping mine. Market here has gone soft for most everything lately so may not have a choice. Worse things to keep and enjoy right 💯

Yes I have ridden this well made bike, it's a bike that will surprise you with how easy it operates and handles, the engine has everything and more you will need now ,and 20 years later. The build quality is impressive. Conclusion? The only bike you'll need for a lifetime. It seems you like the boxer twin ? I like it too, but I got hooked by the k16.❤️

Appreciate your thoughts as the first comment. I do really like the bike, more than I thought I would.

How reliable is the 2017 model? I am planning on buying a 2017 1200 GS Adventure in the next few weeks.

@@GrandSolarEclipse Mine has been very reliable. Ridden it to Tuktoyaktuk, ALaska, and back with no problems.

Just me, but I keep the key fob on my '17 in my jacket pocket, not in the compartment on top of the tank. That way, the bike remains immobile when you walk away from it.

Yeah I wouldn’t leave it for long periods with the key in it unattended when touring.

Yeah well I just got it when I filmed that so can’t blame me, but she ain’t a sport bike.
