I I honestly really think it's a good looking car, I just wish it was a more fun car. 250 horses, manual transmission. I mean, I'd totally get one if a 300 BHP AWD version was made!

Aftermarket down and mid pipes, a program tuner , then bigger injectors and if you're not in epa enforced county a cat delete, you can bolt up and program in a day then you'll be getting speeding tickets in no time.

I just rolled out of the dealer yesterday with a Cruze hatchback Premier RS for my wife @ 23k. At that price, it's a phenomenal car. She loves it, but there's no way I'd pay almost 30k for it. P.S., the new Nightfall gray color is awesome.

That's funny, leaning forward in the seat like you're not going anywhere. Car&Driver's test of compact sedans showed the Cruze to be quickest in its class against rival sedans tested.

The Opel Astra won "car of the year" (yes, beating the more expensive VW Golf) and "best towing car of the year" (every towing car is benchmarked in it's own category). Of course the Astra is kept more premium and the Cruze more cheaply for the best fit in their markets. Chevy Cruze should not be underestimated

I'd take a used impala before paying that kind of money and with the 3.6 you have 305 hp pulling you. Impala are so underrated you can easily get 200k miles on that car. So far I'm at 110k and it's doing fine. Just saw a 2014 ltz limited w 35k miles for 13k.

Chevy should make a Cruze ss with a 275 hp 2.0 turbo and a Cruze ZL1 with a 350 hp supercharged 2.4l i4 engine that revs to 7200 with complementary mean sounding exhaust and seats with firmer padding with leather upholstery with suede accents.

This car is perfect for my needs, but the power from the engine is anemic. I'm only thinking about the diesel because of the 240 lb-ft of torque. Even a 1.8L would give this car the boost it needs. What's the point of 40mpg if I have to get out of the car and help push it to get on the highway?

I find it quite hilarious that you always hear about how Americans are not so much into hatchbacks and yet the pinnacle of American auto world and the most highlighted auto brand today, Tesla, is a hatchback! So I would say that the hatch has been back in the US for a few years already, people just do not realise that because of false marketing jargon.

I drove this vehicle when it first arrived at the Chevy dealer. I'm not a speed demon but found it to be vastly under powered for highway merging. With no more powerful engine available it's not a good choice. Further, with hatchbacks not being popular in the U.S one has to wonder the logic in pricing it $1100 more than the sedan.

THis car is great for cargo and fuel economy. Why the hell would anyone buy it at 30k though? One year used you can get it for like 18k or less in Ontario, same with the GTI. It’s even less money if you get an older model. Never buy a car new man, let someone else do it for you.

Looks like a nice car just so many options for your 30k don't know if it's that hot.Maybe a base model would offer better value and same style? Doesn't seem to have any outstanding quality that warrants the premium . I like the Hyundai Kia a lot, just redesigned, and cheaper I think. And of course the golf ,very highly rated ,just don't think I would go to the Chevy first.

I'm not that impressed by the 1.4T. I'm renting a 2016 Cruze 1.4T and the car itself is fine. Great handling, buttoned down ride, firm and comfortable, decent room, decent sound system, but a little lacking in amenities. The 1.4 can keep up with traffic fine, and actually has impressive torque on the highway(doesn't always search for gears and can go up steep grades while maintaining speed without downshifting), however, if you want 100% power, it feels slightly anemic. It needs at least 160hp to be competitive with the Golf, Civic, Focus, etc. And fuel economy isn't what it should be. My highway driving and gentle driving style is yielding me 33mpg. That's good, but it should be closer to 40. A focus would definitely be in the 40's...

Chevy has lost their ever-loving mind with the pricing of their vehicles. I'm not sure why they think people are going to pay more for a Chevy than just about anything else comparable on the market. It's a nice car, but it's not $30k nice. That's just nuts. Especially when you take into consideration what reliability stands to be like.

The Cruze is a well built car with good power and a smooth ride. One of the few cars in this class with a smooth ride. You would have to be out of your mind to pay 30 grand for a Cruze. 30 grand will buy you a well equipped Legacy,Camry, Accord or Malibu. Even with incentives GM is really pushing their pricing. I am so sad they killed the Cruze Eco that was a fantastic car to drive. It was a 130 mph , 40 mpg, manual , 20k car with a smooth ride and flat handling that weighed just over 3000 pounds. I almost purchased one.

I've owned a Cruze hatch w/ manual for a month. It's a vastly different car than my 2001 Sentra manual. The Sentra was tossable w/ perfect gearing for the city. The Cruze may be somewhat tossable once I get used to it & weather improves. Cruze manual's gearing, however, is oriented toward relaxed highway cruising, gears for great economy at any speed 40-70 mph. Shortage of gears for zipping around town though. Cruze is quiet and comfortable at high speeds, Sentra was buzzing >3000 rpm and jiggly. As Car & Driver wrote... the automatic may be the better choice for this one. Its six gears are a different set, more suitable for all-round driving.
