I just purchased a 2017 black SS, while shopping a dealer had a 2017 orange SS that a customer had replaced all the chrome parts with black items and the car looked good. What I liked was the front and rear chevy bowties had been replaced with the Holden emblems (the emblem is a lion), the wheels had been power coated black with Holden center caps replacing the bowtie caps.

Very cool man, I have no chrome left on my red SS except the badges and bow tie surround. I even wrapped the window trim and chrome door handles. Looking forward to seeing your results!

Nice video! For the window trim I suggest wrapping it with black vinyl. I do wraps myself and did a bunch of cars and it's easy, just time consuming. Love the car!! I'm in the market to get one myself...just deciding on manual it auto. Been on a hunt!

in Australia we also have the HOLDEN HSV. Should get the body kit and badges.

I have a 2017 Commodore Redline- it has all black trim I’m surprised the American version is in chrome

Chris Lawrence I called and asked and cajoled GM as much as I could to get that as an option on mine... no dice. Would have been awesome to have it arrive from Australia with the original Holden trimmings.

How hard is it to get kit? Are they running out of them? If Holden is gone, I guess these kits are nearly gone? I just bought blue one in 8/17 and like chrome okay but I can see appeal of black.

teller121 There will be some for a little while, as they would have ordered some extra before shutting down the lines... that said, if you know you want these parts? Get them soon, because once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Your wheels suck. Would look much better with Holden SS V wheels which is what that car really is. Get rid of that Chev badge, it's cutting cooling air to your under hood which can get REALLY hot.
